Miami Swimming and Diving Faces Florida Atlantic

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami swimming and diving team will travel to Boca Raton, Fla. on Saturday to take on in-state foe Florida Atlantic.
Miami downed the Owls last season in Coral Gables, taking 13 of 16 events to defeat FAU 187-110 at the Norman Whitten Pool. Junior Katalin Ferenczi (Pa’ Pa, Hungary) posted three first place finishes in 2002-03 against FAU, taking the top spot in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke and was a member of the first-place 200-yard medley relay team.
The Hurricane swim team hits the pool after falling to South Carolina 142.5-119.5 last weekend in Columbia, S.C., despite having one of there best all-around performances of the season.
Against the Gamecocks, seven Miami swimmers set season-best in eight different events including sophomore Martyna Krawczyk (Looz, Poland) who hit a personal and team season-best in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching in with a time of 2:19.21.
The UM dive squad will take to the boards after competing in last weekend’s All-Star Diving Challenge in Orlando, Fla.
Saturday’s meet with FAU is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
