Jill Robinson Earns BIG EAST Rookie of the Week Honors

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The Hurricanes’ Jill Robinson was honored by the BIG EAST on Monday, earning the conference’s Rookie of the Week honors for the her play in the Hurricane Volleybal Team’s three victories last week.

Robinson, a native of Merced, Calif. posted a career-high 52 assists against BIG EAST foe, Rutgers in a 3-1 win for Miami and tallied 37 assists and eight digs in a 3-0 win over rival Florida International from her setter position. She also collected 36 assists in a 3-0 blank against Seton Hall.

She currently leads the Hurricanes with 488 assists on the season with an 8.71 assist per game average.

This marks the second time this season Robinson has been named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week. She was also selected for the week ending on Sept. 15 following her first collegiate start.
