Miami Diving Travels North of the Border

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami diving team will travel to Montreal, Canada to take part in the Camo Invitational on Thursday, Dec. 4 – Sunday, Dec. 7.
On the men’s side, junior All-American Miguel Velazquez will look to build on a strong finish at the Minnesota Invitational on Nov. 21-23. The Mexico City, Mexico native led UM to an eight place finish with a top score of 537.75 in the men’s platform. Freshman Derek Starks (Mission Viejo, Calif.) will also look to contribute for the Hurricanes.
For the women, senior All-American Emily Spychala (Tampa, Fla.) hits the pool after a strong showing at the Minnesota Invitational where she turned in a season-best 267.10 in the 1-meter. UM will also look to freshman Heather Bounds (Austin, Texas) at the meet after turning in a score of 440.65 in the 3-meter finals at the Minnesota Invitational.
