Miami Volleyball Set to Take on Notre Dame at the BIG EAST Championships

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The University of Miami Volleyball team heads South Bend, Ind. on Saturday, Nov. 22 to take on No. 17 Notre Dame in the opening round of the BIG EAST Championship tournament.
The Hurricanes (22-8, 9-3) will play as the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Championships after downing Virginia Tech last weekend to secure their spot in the tournament.
Notre Dame (22-4, 11-1) split the BIG EAST regular season title with Pittsburgh after falling to the Panthers, 3-2 last weekend. The Irish will play as the No. 2 seed while Pittsburgh enters at the top seed. Villanova will play as the No. 4 seed.
Notre Dame holds a 2-1 advantage overall against Miami. The Irish overtook the Hurricanes, 3-0 earlier this season on Nov. 9 in South Bend.
This will mark the second meeting in as many years the two schools have locked up in the BIG EAST Championship. Last season, the Hurricanes fell to Notre Dame, 3-1 in the championship game of the tournament.
Saturday’s match with the Irish is slated to begin at 3:30 pm.
