CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami volleyball team will host BIG EAST opponent West Virginia on Friday, Oct. 31 at the Knight Sports Complex at 7 p.m.

The Hurricanes (18-6, 6-1 BIG EAST) return to Coral Gables after knocking off in-state rival Florida Atlantic, 3-0 on Wednesday night in Boca Raton, Fla. UM will attempt to extend it’s home conference unbeaten streak to eight consecutive matches, and remain undefeated all-time in BIG EAST matches played at the Knight Sports Complex.

Miami leads the series, 1-0 with WVU (16-6, 2-5) after downing the Mountaineers, 3-0 last season in Morgantown, W.Va.

“We are excited about playing West Virginia,” Head Coach Nicole Lantagne Welch said. “It has been a couple of weeks since we have played a conference opponent at our home gym. This is the time of year you want to be playing championship caliber matches.”

The Hurricanes will look to senior outside hitter Leyre Santaella Sante (San Juan, Puerto Rico) who comes into the match averaging 5.33 kills per game in UM’s last two contest.

The match will be broadcast live on WVUM 90.5 FM and can also be heard on hurricanesports.com.
