Hurricanes Hold Orange and Green Scrimmage

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The 26th-ranked University of Miami volleyball team will hold the annual Orange and Green Scrimmage on Tuesday, August 26 at 3 p.m. at the Knights Sports Complex.

Led by 2003 junior outside hitter Valeria Tipiana, the preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year, and junior setter Mallorey James, the 2002 BIG EAST Setter of the Year, the Hurricanes will look to fine-tune a team that returns all but one starter from a squad that finished 27-6 and advanced to the regional semi-finals of the NCAA Championships in 2002.

The Hurricanes kick off the season with the Hurricane Invitational held at the Knights Sports Complex beginning on Friday, August 29. The Hurricanes will host Manhattan at 7 p.m. and return on Saturday to face Kent State at 12 p.m. and Indiana at 7 p.m.
