Five Hurricanes Qualify For 100-Meter Final

STORRS, CT (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami freshman TerrellWalden (Miami Edison) won his 100-meter qualifying heat in a time of 10.54seconds as five Hurricanes qualified for Sunday’s final at the BIG EASTOutdoor Track and Field Championships in Storrs, CT.

Walden, the 2003 BIG EAST Indoor 60-meter champion, is attempting tobecome just the seventh sprinter in BIG EAST history to win both the indoorand outdoor sprint titles in the same seasons.

Also qualifying for the 100-meter final were sophomore Tanard Davis(Miami Southridge) with a time of 10.51, sophomore Roscoe Parrish (MiamiSenior) with a time of 10.69, sophomore Sean Taylor (Miami Gulliver) with atime of 10.74 and freshman Travarous Bain (Miami Northwestern) with a time of10.76.

Parrish also qualified for the finals of the 200-meters winning hisqualifying heat with a time of 21.27.

In the 110-meter hurdles, senior Kenny Frank (Pomona, NY) qualified forthe Sunday’s final with a time of 14.52 seconds.
