Miller Receives NCAA Bid

CORAL GABLES, FL (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami sophomore Tina Miller (Miami Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) received an at-large bid to the NCAA Women’s Golf East Regional Championship, May 8-10, at Salem Glen Country Club in Winston-Salem, NC.
Miller won two tournaments this season including a first-place tie at the 2003 BIG EAST Women’s Golf Championship. She finished in the top-20 in seven of nine tournaments this season, including five top-10’s, and had a team best 75.4 stroke average.
Miller is the second Hurricane in as many seasons to receive an individual at-large berth. Last season Camilla Hilland was an NCAA East Regional at-large selection.
A total of three regional tournaments will be conducted May 8-10 to determine the field for the NCAA Championship finals, May 20-23, at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Indiana.
The other two regional sites include the Central Regional in Lincoln, NE and the West Regional in Tempe, AZ.
A total of 324 participants were selected for regional competition. Of those players, 126 will advance to the championship finals. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each region.
EAST REGIONAL
The East regional will be played May 8-10 at Salem Glen Country Club, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, hosted by Wake Forest University. Conference automatic qualifiers are indicated in parenthesis next to the institution.
