– Michael Jimenez: Ft Walton Beach, Fl: I am in the Air Force but never miss an opportunity to watch a game. I was greatly disappointed in the robbery this year at the Fiesta Bowl. Keep your heads up and come out swinging next year. GOOD LUCK!!!

Chris Batten: Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina: Canes, I know and beleive that you all will dominate next season as you have starting with that huge win over UCLA in 1999 and have not yet looked back since then. I know it must be hard to get ripped off like you all did in the Fiesta Bowl, but I was proud of your fight and heart but when the man is out to get you there is nothing you can do to get around it. I hope to see you all allot on t.v next season cause I have never been to the Orange Bowl to see a live game, and hope one day I can take my son to see you all play in the Orange Bowl. I am oiginally from West Virginia but grew up loving the Canes since the late 80’s and early 90’s and have always loved the U of M tradition of football. Well good luck on Spring training and will be following you all as much as I can. I will be shipped out on the 7th of Febuary to fight for our country and hopefully will be back in time to see the 2003 season. Well Canes wish me luck as I wish you all luck.

The Biggest Canes Fan,

Chris Batten

Brad Bongiorni: Pittsburgh, PA: The loss was probably almost as depressing for me as it was for the team. I live close to Ohio and a lot of Ohio State fans, and I cannot stand them! They have no class and did not deserve to win. I love it when the Hurricanes win because all of you guys know how to habdle yourselves because you have all been there before, they obviously have not!

So I just wanted to tell you guys that you had a great season and in my eyes are the 2002 champions and are still unbeaten. I am one of your biggest fans, and trust me, it is not easy dealing with everyone around here because I have Pittsburgh, Penn State, West Virginia, Syracuse, Temple & Rutgers (but they don’t count) and Ohio State all within a couple hours of me.

So best of luck on the upcoming season and let’s get it back!

GO CANES!!!

Your Fan,

Brad Bongiorni

John Velez : Hialeah, Fl: To our admired Hurricanes, Hey guys, tough loss, but don’t worry about it, we’ll be back. For all the seniors and other players moving on to the next level, thanks for bringing Miami Hurricane football back to glory and good luck in your new venture. You guys and the rest of the Miami Hurricanes have given us, the city of Miami, a reason to be proud of where we are from and the city we all live in, Miami! Your energy on the field lights up the whole city and county. Hold your heads up high and do what you guys have done over the last 3-4 seasons…DOMINATE!! Can’t wait till next season to make that run at a third straight National Championship Game!! See you guys at the end of the tunnel in the Orange Bowl!!

From your #1 and extremely proud fan,John Velez

Max Goodman: Boca Raton, Florida: Listen there’s no doubt that we will be back and in another title hunt. Look at the athletes on this football team, were loaded! Nice try in the Fieta Bowl, you don’t win everything and when you give up 5 turnovers your bound to lose! What team can give up 5 turnovers and still lose by 7; most teams would lose by 30 points, that shows how good of team you were. Good luck in 2003, see you in the Orange Bowl!P.S.IT’S GREAT, TO BE, A MIAMI HURRICANE!!!LET’S GO CANESLET’S GO CANESLET’S GO CANESO-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-O-OC-A-N-E-S…CANES!!!!!

Tim Brown: Miami, FL: Hey guys,Keep your heads up! Everyone knows who the real champs are and the only thing to do is get back to the Big Game next year. Respect is the highest honor, so going 12-0 two years in a row is quite an accomplishment, and the ultimate respect. Keep up the good work and I’ll see you guys in the Sugar Bowl next year going for another championship.

Slade Miller: Gadsden, Alabama: Keep your heads up guys. We won that game fair and square. You made a clean play Sean. Grant just plain dropped that ball. Both refs said incomplete and game over, we were champs again. That ref throws a flag 2 minutes after the game is over. Man please. We have been screwed over before but just use that as motivation to play harder next year because that is how life is sometimes.I will be supporting you all the way. Lets go out and stomp everyone starting with La. Tech.

Go Canes!

bernard cohen: miami beach: Guys you played your hearts out all year long an except for a refs agenda we would have won our 2nd trophy in a row. Like usual it is us against the world .Always remember that call because all of us that was there cannot forget it. Use it to inspire yourselves and i will see you in New Orleans next new years. Thanks for all the enjoyment that the team has provided to its fans.Bernard

DeAndre Rainge: Cleveland Ohio: Dear hurricanes I’m writing because I am A HUGE FAN and when miami lost the chance to win back 2 back national champs I was SICK for bout a week but my family was mad because i live in OHIO AND I WENT TO OSU LAST YEAR! BUT IKNOW YOU GUY WILL GO UNDEFEATED AGAIN AND TAKE THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!!!!

P.S. TELL McGAHEE, DORSEY, WINSLOW, JOHNSON I SAID WAAAAAASSSSUUUUPPPP!!

Jeff Frasier (Dallas,Tx): Dear THE TEAM

Im 22 years old and live in Dallas,TX. I swear Im one of the biggest fans out there and have been since I was 5 years old. Yall played a great, superior season and forget about ohio state thats nothing anymore, forget them. Come back next year and fight like yall have been and show this world that yall are still the NUMBER 1 TEAM in this world. This is my motto:

A REAL CANE
HAS NO SHAME
IN THIS GAME
GIVE THEM PAIN
GO HURRICANES
Jeff Frasier

Teresa Suarez: Miami, Florida: Thank you for two wonderful seasons and many more to come. U of M has always been my favorite. We anxiously await for next season to begin. We’ll be there to support the best team ever. In my opinion you are Number 1.

joel gray: canton, ohio: Great year. You played yor hearts out.We are in the middle of a dynasty.20 years of greatness.

Joseph Stone: mansfield, ohio: This coming year for your football team looks awesome. It may be premature to be thinking of going to the national championsgip game right now, but you guys have alot of talent returning and a alot of great quarterbacks ready to fill dorseys position. I have been a canes fan for 19 years. I believe this is not a rebuliding year but a year that will make an impact on the polls and postion us to be #1 AGAIN. Never forget the national championship it was taken from you.

Mark Halverson: Patchogue ,New York: Whats up ? Miami Hurricanes. I love your college! I am 9 years old and in the fourth grade. I’m going to Miami in two weeks and would like to visit your college. I would like to go to your college after I graduate. I also play football for the Bellport Clippers. We were 8 and 2 We lost to South Shore+ Huntington . I hated what happend about the National Championship, It makes me mad- good season though…

Ronna Paree: Columbus, OH: I think that you did a great job against OSU. I think I am the only Miami Hurricane fan in the whole Columbus Ohio area. But that is by choice I came from a Big East University (WVU) but I have always thought that the Miami Hurricanes are the best and all of you should be proud of your accomplishment. OSU will never repeat but you all will. And if you read this Ken Dorsey don’t beat your self up it wasn’t all your fault. Please go to the NFL so I can cheer you on there. (Maybe the Steelers) that we would make me very happy. Good luck to all the Hurricanes next season.

Lone Hurricane Fan in Columbus Ohio

John Hansford : Geneva, Illinois: My daughter is a Freshman at UM and is a avid fan of the Canes. I saw almost every game during the ’02 campaign. If Willis is healthy and things workout at the QB position it will be another great year. Plus UM has the best coach in the nation – hopefully he won’t go to the pros. GO CANES!!!!!!

siobhan pimpton: grovetown,ga: you guys did it this year and i’m so proud to be a hurricane fan. good luck to every1 enterin and to ken and andre in tha nfl and especially to willis cuz i know you’ll be back to yourself and even betta. you guys keep doin whatcha do cuz no1 does it betta than them MIA BOYZ, so juz shake them haters off, cuz they wish they could be ya, but they can’t!!!!!!! to every1 who’s comin back next yr,DO THA DAMN THANG!!!!!!!! i luv you guys and most definetly willis, and i hope to see some of you guys after nest yr cuz i plan on attendin miami!!!!!!!!!!

Tim Friskop: Wahpeton, North Dakota: hey i just wanted to tell you thanks for a good football season and keep your heads up for next season.GO CANES

Dr. William R. Renuart: Miami, Fl: The coaches and players aof the UofM football team make me proud to be an alumnus. Yes, I love winning, but I love it much more because of teh FIRST CLASS group of players and coaches that you are. You behavior on and off the field surprises me many times. You tend to be humble, soft spoken, and always polite. Gee, you all could teach many professional athletes a thing of two! This past football season was incredible. I never imagined you would go l2-l. Yes, I really felt bad for you when you lost the Fiesta Bowl. However, I cannot think of any team that lost with more courage, self control, heart, and CLASS. i AM VERY PROUD OF YOU! Yes, you will be back! Yes, you will be one of the best teams in the nation next year. Yes, you will give the very best of yourselves and be the BEST respresenting your individual selves, the team, and the University of Miami. G O C A N E S !

Ransom T. Lane : Akron, Ohio: Just wanted to say thank you for another exciting football season! I’m glad that I actually tape most of the Games this year. The team really showed class on the football field this year. I admit I was suprise at our defeat to Ohio State, that night after the game I went straight home hoping that the whole night was a dream unfortunately it was not!!Living in Ohio really made it tough because of all the bag wagon buckeye fans up here were really talking trash. I admit leading to the game I was very, very confident! I know if we played them 5 other times we would’ve won all 5 games. It was really weird to have our local news talking about my canes!! I’ve been a canes fan since 83′ and always will be. I’m still proudly supporting my canes gear to the office, beacuse I’m proud to be a canes fan. Good luck Willis and to the rest of the Seniors who helped bring to program to status!! Yours Truly Ransom Lane Akron, Ohio

J. J. Jacob: Ada, Oklahoma: Good job on a great season. Im a BIG and seems like the only fan of The Hurricanes. I hope someday to follow in Jeremy Shockey’s footsteps and play for the Hurricanes and hopefully for the NFL someday. But to be a Hurricane would be a dream come true. Thanks for the memories guys. Keep it up. There is plenty more championships to come. and good luck next season.

Joel Solomon, Royal Palm Beach, Florida: Dear Hurricanes, The Fiesta Bowl was stolen from you, even though you (Oh, I can’t believe I’m saying this) almost deserved to lose because of the many interceptions. But, you were cheated. That last defensive play you had was so not pass interference. i can’t believe that a man from that far away would throw the flag that long after the play. Who the heck would put a ref with a record like that into a championship game? I think you won, the NCAA just put in a few extra plays and gave Ohio St. the game just for kicks, lol. I just wanted to share my sympathy.

Joel

D.Don Shipman: Coconut Creek,Fl.: Take it to the limit…… One More Time !!!

Niurka Corradino : Miami, FL: YOU MIGHT BE BE OFFICIALLY THE CHAMPS, BUT WE ALL KNOW WHO WON THAT GAME AND WHO ARE THE REAL CHAMPIONS!!! That title is tainted.CANES #1 FOREVER.Nickie, Charlie and Chris Corradino

Jamie Washington: Allendale, South Carolina: Don’t worry about that fluke loss Hurricanes. We had an off night and still almost won the game. I believe in the coaching staff, the players and everyone else involved with the football team. I know we will recruit the best players to go with the returning players and we will be in the Sugar Bowl next year beating some team’s brains out. The loss to Ohio St. left tears in my eyes bc I love you guys so much, mainly bc I was born a Hurricane fan. So lets get to work in the off-season, so we can be ready to cream everybody with a different color jersey next year.

jose clevenger : miami: i know the game passed a long time ago but i believe that miami is the true national champs. the title was stolen away fron you guys by a referee who wasnt sure about the call. next year you have something to prove to everyone, except your fans, because i believe that you guys truly repeated. GO CANES IN 2003!!!!!!!!!take on all commers and knock’em down. show college football, and the world, who truly is #1.HURRICANES IN ’03, ORANGE’N GREEN IN ’03

Bill & Sheila Sullivan: Plantation, Florida: My wife & I were in full Hurricane gear and LOUD at the “F Bowl” in Tempe. I can only imagine how down the team was after the intense disappointment, especially Willis. Our thoughts & prayers go out to him as he recovers from that hit by Will Allen. If a ‘Cane put a helmet on Clarett’s knee like that the OU crybabies would be petitioning the NCAA. If you get a future chance on Mr. Allen, please pay him back with interest! We are very proud of all of “our” ‘Canes. You did great in 2002. We are already looking forward to this next season.

Alex Johnson : Treynor, IA: Hey,I was down at the fiesta bowl because I was in one of the bands. I did the big flag for pre-game. I love college football. The few, but distinguished, miami fans in the band. were very disappointed. I think the team will rebound next season. You have a lot of talent for next season.

Go ‘Canes Alex

Big Johnson : Miami: YO Willis hope your knee gets better. You should come back for your final season with the canes.

LOve Biggie

Eric Cates: Rockwood, Tennessee: Just to let you guy’s know, you are still the #1 college football team in my book. Who else can say they won 34 straight games and a National Championship in that run. You will always be #1 in my book. I think it’s time to start a new winning streak. Let’s have a 13-0 season in 2003.GO CANES!!!!!!!!!!!!

CILO JOHNSON: STONE MTN, GA: WASSUP CHAMPS, YO I’M A HURRICANE TO THE BONE AND HAVE BEEN SINCE THE 80’S. YOU GUYS SHOWED ALOT OF HEART THIS SEASON AND I WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT AND SHOW LOVE TO YOU. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A HURRICANE GAME BUT LORD WILLING, I WILL MAKE A HOME GAME IN THE UPCOMING SEASON. I’M DISSAPPOINTED ABOUT THE FIESTA BOWL BUT I’M PROUD OF THE THE LEGACY. PLEASE GIVE A SHOUT TO THE ENTIRE SQUAD FOR ME. I’M CATCHING ALOT AOF FLACK RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I’M SUCH A VOCAL HURRICANE BUT I WEAR SOMETHING MIAMI AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK AND ONE LOST WILL NOT STOP THE HEART FROM BEATING. ONE LOVE AND LET’S CONTINUE TO DO WHAT CANES DO. CILO JOHNSON, CANE TILL I DI

Brandi Simpson : Austell, GA: I think that you guys have a great football team and don’t sweat that loose to Ohio

Bill Coll (Canedawgbill): Tulsa,Ok: I know the entire “Cane Nation” are very proud of you guys and what you have done in the last 2 1/2 years. The only thing you (team) can control is the future, how much harder you hit the weights, build your stamina for the 4th quarter, tackle harder, pass block better etc. I’m 57 years old and if I never see wide right #4 or wide left #2 will be just fine my me. May the good Lord Bless the team and coaching staff in your endeavors to be the best team in college football.

RUBEN VALDEZ JR.: IMMOKALEE FLA.: HEY,HURRICANES,GREAT SEASON.HELL OF A SEASON!! KEEP YOUR HEADS UP,I KNOW WE FANS ARE,BECAUSE WE KNOW WHAT WE HAVE HERE.
