Women's Basketball Set To Face Syracuse

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The University of Miami women’s basketball team faces Syracuse for the second time this season as the Hurricanes host the Orangewomen Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center.
Miami (12-4, 4-1 in the BIG EAST) is coming off of a 79-76 road victory over Pittsburgh Wednesday night.
Syracuse (6-11, 1-5 in the BIG EAST) lost its third straight game at home Tuesday night falling 48-44 to Seton Hall.
The Hurricanes beat the Orangewomen 85-68 Jan. 8, 2003 in Manley Field House.
Miami leads the all-time series 15-5 and is 10-1 at home against SU. The last time Miami lost to Syracuse at home was the first-ever meeting between the two teams during the 1988-89 season (78-62).
In the last meeting freshman Tamara James (Dania, Fla.) led all scorers with 30 points and 10 rebounds.
James also leads the Miami offense averaging 23.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.
