I love your eye shield you wear with your helmet, it’s really awesome.Well let me get to the point. I am writing you this because I feel really bad about your injury. It looked pretty bad when I was watching it on TV Friday night and wanted to find some way I could write to you somehow. You never want to see those kind of injurys happen to any athlete, it’s devestating, but I believe you can completely recover from it. Don’t get your hopes up.I know you probably don’t care a whole lot about me writing you this because im a Buckeye fan, but understand that even though you are a Hurricane I still respect you.

And bring that bronze statue back where it belongs, and also that sears trophy!!!!!!!!!!You are undoubtfully the man. Watch out Emmitt, Willis is on the way!Take care, and God Bless!Adam Brown

Tim Mast: Liberty Center Ohio: Mr.McGahee~I hope your surgery went well and hope the rehab goes as schedualed…Cant wait to see you back on the field making the defenders looking lost…I am a diehard Buckeye fan and I can truly say this from the bottom of my heart…If it wasnt for you leaving the game the Buckeyes would have never won that game….I truly believe that…I would trade that whiner Clarret anyday for a Willis McGahee…You are a special person and a special athlete….get well and take care of yourself…Hope to see you in a Denver Bronco jersey in the near future…

Anthony Patrick: Jacksonville, Fl: Dear Willis, I wisha speedy recovery, the minute I saw the hit and I didn’t see you get up. I feared the worst beause all year long you’ve gotten up from hit after hit and on 99% of the time you delivered the hit. I saved a copy of the trainers carrying you off the field and I hope you kept a copy of the picture as well, so when the times get tough and you don’t feel like rehabing. You look at that picture and it get you through the day. Because my last memory was you being carted off the field. The memory I hold in my heart is the Willis carving up Florida, FSU, Tennessee and Va Tech and the 10 yrd dash to the end zone in the Fiesta Bowl. I know you can do it because my next vision will be seeing you at the Downtown Athletic Club winning the Heismann.SincerelyAnthony Patrick ( True Willi Fan )

Ben C. Schodowski: Kingsport, TN: Willis, I hope you make a full recovery before the season opener. Seeing you go down hurt more than seeing us lose. I love all ya guys for the hard work you have put in to making it to the national title game 2 years in a row. And I just wanna tell you that we didn’t lose that game because OSU was better, we lost it because of that REF!!! Just make a full recovery Willis, and show the country what you and the University of Miami football team is made of. CANES ARE STILL #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dale Engles: Santa Rosa, Ca: Willis, I know that a great athlete like yourself will heal 100% and be an inspiration to us all next year. I’m sorry you had to postpone your decision about your football future, but I bet there are about 2.5 million reasons for you to be happy. I know the money isn’t everything, but at least you had the common sense to insure yourself in case something happened to your money-earning potential in football. Even if the professional football dreams never happen for you (although I’m SURE they will), you obviously have a good head on your shoulders that will ensure you success regardless of football. Football talent is one thing, but having the insight to make smart financial moves is another. You proved you have this insight (or luck or skill) that many of us lack.Anyway, get well soon, good luck in football and everything else and we’ll see you on the field sometime in September 2003
John Cokkinias: Mason, OH: I just want to say how much i enjoyed watching Miami play this year. Living in the buckeye state we don’t get all of the games, but I watched enough to know that without Willis the Canes wouldn’t have been the same. Get well soon and rehab that knee, cause I am really looking forward to seeing you play on Sunday!
Bjorn Boquist: Miami FL: Stay positive and determined in your rehabilitation. Attitude is everything and all the Hurricane fans across the world are routing for you. Thanks for an unbelievable season Willis.Bjorn Boquist

SolomonP.s. brother of coach f-rock
Jeff Wiery: Athens, Oh: Dear Willis, I must admit that I was cheering against you for the first three quarters of the National Championship game. When you were tackled after what seemed like a harmless hit, I again cheered. But once I saw that you weren’t getting up off the field, and after seeing the replay, I immediatley had a flashback of how I was injured. I too had a devastating knee injury. I was a junior in high school when it happened. And although I wasn’t nearly as talented as you are, I was getting offers from several Big Ten schools. Once they heard that I was injured, they stopped calling. I had surgery, and eight months of therapy. And you know what, with all the hard work I did rehabilitating myself, I was able to play my senior year. And the same schools that were recruiting me called back. I told them that if they weren’t going to stick by their word and could abandon me so quickly, then I didn’t want to have anything to do with them. Needless to say I played out my senior year, and went t!o college and couldn’t have been happier with my decision. I am sure people are telling you that things will be ok and everything will be all right. But you need to tell yourself that unless your are willing to bust your butt and get yourself back in shape, all the work that you did up to this point was for nothing. You are the best running back in the country. You have unlimited potential. Show the country that you are the hardest worker out there by coming back even better than you are. I am sorry that my message isn’t very simpathetic but I was in a similar position. Consider this more of an empathetic message. I hope all goes well in your recovery. You will be back and you will be better than ever. Good luck!!! Sincerely Jeff Wiery
Jason Kerepesi: Miami, FL: hey willis, i hope that rehab goes well and quickly so we can see you in orange and green in august. we both know glenn sharpe didn’t interfere. that was horseshit, they were lettin you guys play all game. that Porter line judge is full of shit just like the two other missed calls in the, eh hem, big 10 earlier in the year. at least you got that 2.5 mill insurance thing goin just for good measure right? i still want to see deuce on the field next year man. good luck with rehab and go canes.

O’Grady: Fort Leavenworth, Kansas: Willis,From all that we (my wife and three children) have read and the interviews that we’ve seen you give, it is obvious that you have great will, determination, and a heart as big as the Orange Bowl. Anthony Patrick: JACKSONVILLE,FL: Dear Willis, I wish you speedy recover as a true Hurricane fan the minute I saw you didn’t get up. I feared the worst because all year long you’ve gotten up from hit after hit, but 99% of the time you delivered the hit. I saved to my desk top a picture of the trainers carrying you off the field, and I hope you use it to motivate you during rehab. So when the going get tough and you don’t feel like rehabing, I hope you look at that picture and it pushes you harder to get back to form. Because my last memory you will not be Willis getting carted off the field. The Willis that remeber is the Willis that carved up Florida, Florida State, Tennesee and Va Tech defence.I have put my number 2 jersey up and I will not wearr it again until you make your 1st start. This comes from a true Willis fan

Eric A. Eisenberg: Naples, Florida: Willis, Thank you for an amazing season. Your effort, attitude, and skills are an inspiration. You were the final piece in a puzzle built in the drive to the National Championship. I’ve constantly been checking your status on ESPN.com and have just read that youve been released from the hospital and are expected to make a full recovery. Although you may not turn pro next season, all Miami fans at the first home game, myself included, are ready to greet you wholeheartedly, whether in uniform or not, when you walk out of the tunnel. I have no doubt that after another fantastic season you will take your place on the podium as a first round pick and follow in the footsteps of Clinton Portis recieving a future Rookie of the Year Award. Best wishes to you and your family and I hope you have a speedy recovery.Eric Eisenberg
