Women's Basketball Faces FIU Saturday Night

CORAL GABLES, Fla.- The University of Miami women’s basketball team will travel to face cross-town rival Florida International Saturday at 7 p.m. in Golden Panther Arena.
Miami enters the contest 3-2 overall, while FIU is 4-2 overall, including a two-game winning streak.
This will be the 48th meeting between the two teams; Miami leads the all-time series 29-18.
The Hurricanes have fallen to the Panthers in the last two meetings.
The Hurricanes lost to Florida 76-67 Tuesday Dec. 2 in its last contest. Freshman Tamara James was the leading scorer with 17 points and six rebounds.
James leads the team averaging 24.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.
FIU has all five starters averaging in double figures with senior Mandy Shafer leading the team with 14.7 points.
The game will be broadcast live on WVUM (90.5 FM).
