Tipiana Selected For Co-Player of Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – Following a performance that was instrumental in the Miami volleyball team’s win over Notre Dame Friday, sophomore outside hitter Valeria Tipiana (Lima, Peru) was selected as the BIG EAST Conference Co-Player of the Week.
Kerri Sullivan of Villanova was also selected as Co-Player of the Week.
Tipiana led the Hurricanes with a career high 28 kills in the win over the perennial powerhouse Irish and also hit a team-high .358. She was second on the team in digs with 16.
For the week, Tipiana had 43 kills, 25 digs, and hit .300.
It was the second time this season that Tipiana had been honored by the conference. Following a Tournament MVP performance in the Wichita State Tournament in late August, Tipiana was selected as the BIG EAST Player of the Week.
