Early Bowl Ticket Information

Dear Canes Fan:

This year, the Miami Hurricanes are again the team to beat and making a run at their second straight National Championship. This year’s National Championship game is the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, Arizona. While we still have some very important games to play, we want you to be a part of bowl season, regardless of where the Canes play.

This year we expect demand to again exceed the amount of tickets we are allotted for the bowl game in which UM participates. Therefore, we can only guarantee the right to purchase bowl tickets to ACTIVE (2002) Hurricane Club members and Athletic Department contributors. This means you will have made a contribution to the Athletic Department between January 1, 2002 and November 29, 2002. Therefore, it is not too late to join and guarantee your priority to buy Bowl tickets as listed below.

Since we expect demand to exceed supply, we will only be able to accept ticket orders equal to your donation level in the Hurricane Club/Athletic Department. Should tickets remain after fulfilling Hurricane Club members and Athletic Department contributor’s requests, consideration will be given to season football ticket holders, Alumni, and then general public orders. The number of tickets Hurricane Club and Athletic Department donors are able to purchase depends upon their 2002 donation. Donor levels for bowl tickets are as follows:

2002 Donation Level # in Priority
$150-$299 2 tickets
$300-$1,199 4 tickets
$1,200-$2,999 6 tickets
$3,000-$12,499 8 tickets
$12,500-above 10 tickets

Enclosed you will find a Hurricane Club membership application to join or to increase your current level of contribution. If you have any questions please call our offices at 305-284-6699 or 1-800-GO-CANES. The deadline for donations to receive Bowl Ticket Priority is November 29, 2002. All Athletic Department & Hurricane Club donors as of this date will be eligible to purchase bowl tickets. The timeline for ordering bowl tickets will be as follows:

Sunday, December 8th: Official Bowl Selection Announcement
Sunday, December 15th: Deadline for Hurricane Club members and Athletic department donors to order their priority seats.
Monday, December 16th: Opportunity for Hurricane Club members and Athletic department donors to order additional tickets IF AVAILABLE.

All Hurricane Club members and season ticket holders will receive a bowl ticket order form via mail that can be sent back with your order. These forms must be received by the above deadlines in order to guarantee your priority.
