Volleyball Ranked No. 2 In Northeast Region

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami volleyball team (18-2, 5-1 BIG EAST) was recently ranked second in the NCAA Northeast Region.

The NCAA Northeast Region includes five major conferences and 45 division I schools. The Northeast conferences are the BIG EAST, America East, Atlantic 10, Ivy Group and Patriot League.

Traditional BIG EAST Conference and regional power Notre Dame took the top spot with its 15-3 overall record and a 6-0 mark in conference play. The Hurricanes and Irish play November 15 at the Knight Sports Complex.

Miami next travels to conference foe Virginia Tech (13-8, 5-1 BIG EAST) this Saturday, October 26 at 7 p.m. The Hokies are currently ranked No. 10 in the Northeast.

Miami returns to action closer to home when it travels north to Boca Raton play at Florida Atlantic at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 29 at FAU Gymnasium. Miami’s next home match will be Friday, November 1 against St. John’s at 7 p.m. UM finishes up that weekend with a 2 p.m. match against Connecticut.
