Coral Gables, Fla (www.hurricanesports.com) — -What did you do when the kick went wide left? (Check back to read YOUR message)!

MIKE WILLIAMS, Casselberry, Fl: After the the Kick went WIDE LEFT. I went outside in my front yard and did 3 Somersaults and 1 cartwheel. And then Proceded to Grill My friends FSU hat. NOW THAT WAS FUN.. TO SEE THAT FSU HAT BURN ON MY GRILL. AWSOME SITE.

NEXT UP— TENN.

Another soon hat too burn.

GO CANES

Steve Memory, Kenosha, WICalmly took my heart out of my mouth, put it back where it belonged and started to enjoy thinking about what I would say to all my Big Ten work colleagues on Monday! Fantastic game – one of the best I’ve ever seen

Carol Hammond, Sarasota, Florida: My son had a football game that day, so I brought along my portable T.V. So now me and about 30 on lookers are trying to watch my little T.V. When the ball was downed with one second left. I stood up and said, “I am taking my T.V. some guy said, “And we will tackle you!” so I sat back down and I said a quick prayer that maybe, just maybe a strong gust of wind would blow. So when the kick went wide left, I jumped up, got a horrible gash on my leg, grabbed my T.V. and left limping and bleeding. I had to go back because I forgot my son was playing football!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHC-A-N-E-S………Canes!!!!!

Karen Williams, Hollywood, FLWatching the game from home, I was sitting on the floor in front of the T.V., disappointed the game had to come down to this moment – and all of a sudden you could tell the kick was sailing wide left from the t.V. angle, and I screamed at the top of my lungs, and ran outside continuing to scream and jump, for the benefit of my F.S.U. neighbor Tammie Lee. She had just called me taunting me that we were losing and we were “going down”, so my screaming continued for several minutes! UNBELIEVABLE. Let’s not let the games go down to this for the remainder of the year! My heart can’t take it.

Bryan Styles, P., Swannanoa, NC: I was over at a friends house watching the game (one of the best that I’ve ever seen). Of course he happened to be an FSU fan so during the 1st half he didn’t seem to shut and I kept telling him that Miami WILL come back. When FSU was able to down the ball with one second remaining I assumed my usual position on the edge of the seat, the same as with all of the other “wide right” games in recent years. I kept saying “please sail wide right just one more time.” So here we are wiith wide-left one!!!! Go Canes!!!

Ann-Marie Willenborg, Miami Shores, FL: I am of the superstitious type, so I left the game after the third quarter since changing seats, crossing my fingers, covering my eyes, etc. did not seem to help the scoreboard (I realize I was the only person to leave the game). I went back to our onsite parking spot in NW1 and proceeded to re-set up our tailgate party. I paced the entire lot until the last second and heard the erruption from the bowl! By the time my 50 friends emerged, all the food was out and the coolers were in place to celebrate one of the best games ever played in the history of college football! I wouldn’t chaneg a thing…….my leaving the game spurred us on to victory!

Patricia A. Loughmam, Jacksonville, Florida: After driving six hours from Jacksonville and sitting in the stands with my two children and friends (we met them at the Washington game last year who had flown in from Dallas, TX) watching what to me was an unbelievable first half, I thought back to when my son and I drove down to Miami after taking a beating from Syracuse to play UCLA. In the third quarter of that game (down by 3 TDs), my son looked at me and said “let’s go mom”. I looked at him and said “Are you kidding? The game isn’t over”. He just smiled with his chin in his hands. We scored. The smile got bigger. We scored again. The chin came up. I just knew we were going to win. We did. I never give up. I have faith in the ‘Canes. After the game, I threw my arms around my children and we just hugged each other. Tears in our eyes, joy in our hearts. What greater way to celebrate than with the love of family and friends. We did it! We went back to our car and celebrated.

Jennifer Twilley, Heathrow FL : I am an alumni cheerleader, and I was on the field during the forth quarter of the game – as alumni cheerleaders are invited to cheer on the field during the fourth quarter of every homecoming football game.

I was standing next to the goal post as the final field goal attempt was made. I saw the ball coming directly over my head – sailing wide left… I couldn’t believe it! I was cheering on the field in Tallahassee in 1991 – my senior year – as the first wide right took place! I was reliving the same event over again in real time! WOW!I ran out on the field and jumped up and down screaming with all of the other alumni cheerleaders.

It was an unbelieveable day.

Robb Williamson, M, Woodinville, Washington: Cashmere Washington…I watched the whole game in confidence. I believed from all of the hype on the t.v. that Miami would come back in fashion. I knew that it would take a great run and composure by the Miami offense. The Defense came up big when it counted. When he kicked that ball I fell to my knees and with a gasp I watched it sail wide left and I cried out loud in front of a bunch of Florida State fans! I was so happy…I have already made my plans to be in Phx for the National championship game. It wasn’t luck! It was a great battle! We were victorious because we did not give up! The fans never stopped believing. GO CANES GO! Its great to be a MIAMI HURRICANE!Robb WilliamsonSeattle Washington

Bradley S. Watson, Santa Barbara, CA: Once the kick sailed left I headed straight for the UM tunnel to chear the Canes off the field. I had to fight through hundreds of people to slap hands with the Champs. After that I went outside the Orange Bowl to watch OU – Texas on the TV and eat a specially designed UM birthday cake a friend had made for me. It was the best birthday of my life. I traveled all the way from Southern California to see this great game.

Stephen, Wilder, Bloomington, IL: Celebtrating my 2nd wedding anniversary by watching the Miami/Florida State game at my in-laws in Knoxville, IL. While the rest of the family was out at the local fall festival, I skipped out to watch the big game. I’ve been a loyal Canes fan since the mid-80’s and I literally drop everything to watch Miami play. Last year, we celebrated by watching the Canes thump Florida State at Tallahasee as an anniversary gift. Two years ago we celebrated our wedding day by watching the Canes break the 5 year Florida State winning streak by coming from behind to win at the Orange Bowl. I witnessed wide right I in person and watched the Canes get shut out 49-0 in Tallahasee. Since my brothers and father are all Florida State fans, the conversation hasn’t touched on College Football much the last couple of years. I’ve just kicked back and enjoyed the return to prominance. GO CANES!

Slade Miller, Southside, Alabama : At first, I was in shock. Then, I started jumping up and down high fiving everyone I could see. Then I started hugging my dad who was sitting right beside me. Then I took off down the ramp down to the field. I thought we all might get to run on the field but we didn’t. I just stood by the rail at the field and took photos and chanted with everyone “Its great to be a Miami Hurricane!” I truly could not believe what had just happened. My heart just about jumped out of my chest. It was quite a rush. When I was running down the ramp I was screaming “We’re #1 baby, Miami #1 baby!” It was the most exciting game I have ever experienced.

Shawn Maas, Weston, FL: I high fived the Lutheran Pastor and his family that I invited to the game. Two words should always be synonymous with Miami vs. FSU… DIVINE INTERVENTION!

Shawn Maas, Class of 1995

Stallings, Wynne, Gainesville, FL : As the clock headed into 2 minutes left and FSU continued driving down into UM territory, I looked to my companion and said, “It’s gonna be another wide right.” Sure enough, it came down to a field goal. I just couldn’t believe it was even possible that FSU would miss another one in this type of clutch situation. It was hard to see the accuracy of the kick as we were sitting upper deck on the far right of the horseshoe. I wasn’t really looking anyway. The kick looked good to me. I looked away and started to gather my things. Then I heard the noise. I looked around the stadium. I saw Miami fans going wild and our players storming the field. I turned to my companion frantically and demanded he tell me what happenend. He smiled and said, “Wide left.” “Wide left,” I repeated, in shock. “Wow, it’s a new trend.”

David O Gray, Simpsonville, SC: I could not watch the game until the 10 minute mark, I turned on the tv to find the 27-13 score. I was sick. You could see the intense look on Dorseys face-TD to Beard, come on Canes. I was yelling at the top of my lungs-run Willis, don’t stop. D next play-come on Canes you can do it. Capshaws punt NO! My heart was pounding in my chest. The field goal-he missed it,he missed it. What a comeback, unbelievable. Go Canes.

david kane, mt holly nj: just stood there for a few minutes, it was unreal, and then tried and get out it was so hot and i was so drained i could not catch my breath.

Jacki Muskat, Boca Raton FL : CRIED TEARS OF JOY AND SCREAMED SO LOUD I LOST MY VOICE! WOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!CANES #1 !!!!

erick valdez, miami, florida: SINCE I WAS AT THE GAME, I WAS ESTATIC THAT THE CANES WON…….I ALSO WAS IN SECTION 26 AS WELL…THAT SECTION WENT ABSOLUTELY CRAZY WHEN THE CANES WERE COMING BACK FROM BEING DOWN 27-14….GOOD GAWD WHAT A SECTION TO BE IN….!!!!!!!!!!…..WHEN IT WAS 1 SECOND LEFT…..I WAS YELLING PLEASE BLOCK THE KICK, BLOCK IT BLOCK DAMN IT BLOCK IT…….FROM SECTION 26 I COULDNT REALLY TELL IF FSU MADE THE FIELD GOAL……SO I LOOKED TO THE BLEACHERS ON THE OPEN ENDZONE TO CONFIRM IN MY MIND THERE REACTION TO THE KICK…WHEN THE MAJORITY OF THE CANES FANS IN THE OPEN END ZONE WERE CHEERING WILDLY I KNEW WE HAD WON…I FEEL ON A SPORTS LEVEL, I THANK GOD I HAD A CHANCE TO WITNESS LIVE 2 CLASSIC MIAMI GAMES..1. WIDE RIGHT 3 IN 20002. WIDE LEFT 1 IN 2002

Charles Peter Bellnier, Grovetown, GA : My son may be one of Miami’s greatest fans. Although he lives in Atlanta and my wife and I live in Augusta, my son drove down and paid for our tickets to fly down. We’re both season ticket holders and we were the first in line (the very first) at the general admission gate at 4 hours before gametime. When the kick sailed wide left, we yelled, hugged, took pictures of us and the scoreboard and stayed to enjoy the moment for as long as we could. It was the single most exciting event I have ever seen. The CANES have heart and the crowd was truly the 12th man.

Jorge Tonos, Miami,FL: I was in Las Vegas in a sports bar in a casino and when the kick when wide left I started screaming and yelling ” It’s no good Miami wins Miami wins. It was even more sweet because you could tell that everyone in there hated Miami. Hate us because we are # 1.

Travis McCall, Jacksonville, Florida: After the kick went wide left me and my friends were jumping around going bannans in full excitement like we were joining the 81,000 plus in Coral Gables in the Orange Bowl. Then I took off my Ken Dorsey jersey ond put it on my friend who is an FSU fan and told him, ” Now we have a WIDE LEFT series that is about to start.”

Travis McCall, Jacksonville, Florida: After the kick went wide left me and my friends were jumping around going bannans in full excitement like we were joining the 81,000 plus in Coral Gables in the Orange Bowl. Then I took off my Ken Dorsey jersey ond put it on my friend who is an FSU fan and tolde him “” Now we have a WIDE LEFT series that is about to start.”

Donnell Wright II, Richardson, Tx: While laying on the floor watching the kick through my fingers, I almost passed out. As the kick went wide left, I sprang into the air, came down, sprang into the air again and fell back on my sofa. The force of my coming down on the sofa broke one of the wooden slats so I spent Sunday morning looking for a new sofa. I’ve never felt so good about spending $1600!

Donald D James, Colorado Springs, CO: My wife thought I was going nuts!! I thought it was good until the ref’s waved No Good!!! Then the jumping and screaming started..

Maurice BelcherRocky Mount,NC: Honestly, I fell to my knees and almost cried after the kick went WIDE LEFT!!! I WAS EXHAUSTED. THAT WAS THE BEST FOOTBALL GAME I’VE SEEN (COLLEGE OR POR) IN A WHILE. I LOVE THE MIAMI HURRICANES AND I ALWAYS HAVE, ALWAYS WILL, BUT YOU GUYS ARE GOING TO GIVE ME A HEART ATTACK!!! GO ‘CANES!!!

John W Kossler, Weston, Florida: THANKED GOD!

Afterall, the team only played at the level they are capable of in the early 1st quarter and then the later part of the 4th quarter, to come away with the win was a blessing.

It seemed the Canes were going to roll, that was until Dorsey threw his 1st interception. After that, it seemed the team could not consistently get its level of play back up until mid-way through the 4th, both the offense & defense. Dorsey is a great competitor and leader, he must keep his receivers focused on the fundamentals, dropped balls stop drives.

The Canes have all the talent and athletic ability they need. However, no matter how great the team is they must always “come to play” and maintain their focus for a full 60 minutes, no matter who the opponent.

Alexander Alvarez, MIAMI, FL: I got up from the rocking chair and I put my hands to my head from being so nervous. I was saying, “please go wide left, please go wide left.” When Wide Left I occured, I high-fived my grandfather and mother who were watching. I started to jump and raised my hands saying, “wide left!” I had actually called for WIDE LEFT I.

Ralph Garcia, Miami, Fl: it’s very simple : I cried…. I cried tears of joy while my wife kept telling me “I told you that they(the Canes) wouldnt quit on you. I told you!!!”

paul w koch, dearborn, michigan : i slumped in front of the tv with my mouth open, dumbfounded, i was just drained by the intensity, i couldn’t believe he missed the field goal. i fully expected him to make the kick, praying for a miracle i kept looking to the right for the miss. i’m the consumate hurricane fan and i’m glad we won, but wished it were more like 2000 when we marched to victory. you just have to feel for florida state.

Glenn Stofsky, Cooper City, FL: While watching from my seat on the 20 yard line right next to those nasty SemiHoles fans, I kept my mouth shut while FSU lined up for the FG. I knew I couldn’t tell if he was going to make it from my vantage point, so right when he kicked it I just looked at the fans in the endzone because they would know first what happened. When the ball sailed past the posts I saw the fans jump up screaming, and I knew it missed. I just kept asking/yelling that it missed but didn’t know which way..didn’t care. I then spent the next 2 minutes just staring at the bewildered Noles’ fan section and all I thought was “Man, do you have an awful 7 hour drive home to that rat hole city you live in now.” It was sweet. My heartbeat had barely returned when the Dolphins did it to me again the next night. What a great Miami football weekend!PS Rix and Beitia deserved to lose after taunting the UM players and fans with 10 minutes left in the game. NEVER point to the Miami scoreboard unless there is 00:00 on the clock, baby!

Selah Bishop, Jacksonville, FL: I was at home(Jacksonville) on my couch when Capshaw shanked the punt. I said not again. It has to stop coming down to a lsat second punt. I was yelling at the TV the whole game. My wife was laughong at me in the back room because everytime the commentators would bring up the previous wide rights I would go crazy at the TV and hope they would quit. I truly believe they were trying to jinx the kick to be good. Well it went wide left and I could see it from the start of the kick. I yelled so loud that my wife went into a shock look and my sons came running out from the back, what wrong with daddy, he’s gone crazt or something? I started my wide left dance for their kicker. Yelling you’ve started something else since you wasn’t there for the other missed kicks. That’s where I was for the kick.

Chris, Kulow, Kissimmee, FL: Just when it seemed like it was all over for the Canes, the Hurricane force winds kicked in and blew the FSU victory hopes away. It was a feeling of relief to know that the Canes remained unbeaten. I was at the game with my girlfriend who happens to be a very intense Seminole fan. I wasn’t supposed to cheer obnoxiously, but I couldn’t help it after watching those FSU fans do their little chopping motion. Needless to say I expressed my excitement when the Hurricanes scored the touchdown that tied the game. I got very intense when the extra-point put the Canes ahead. My girlfriend got up and left at that point. She didn’t see the wide-left kick, but I’m sure she heard the roar of the crowd as she walked down 7th. I may have walked back to the car alone because I cheered obnoxiously, but FSU still lost and I still cheered.

John Davis W., Mount Gretna Pennsylvania: I jumped on top of my coffee table, and thumped my hands on the ceiling.

Eyuany Cano, Miami, FLI screamed so loud that I lost my voice and I cried…. I was so happy and proud of the CANES!!!!!!!!!!!

Shannon Bryson, Orlando, FloridaI called back all the people that had been calling me all game and not a single one of them answered the phone.

Fred Jones, Tallahassee, FL: I stood up from my rochin’ chair , tried to lean way right , stepped over , sat down , missed the darn chair, fell, hit the wall, and would you believe it , my Seminoles autographed football fell from the wall hanger and clunked me in the head. We must be ginxed !!!!!!!

Mohammed Abella, Ann Arbor, Michigan: Before the kick, I was praying heavily and loud. Right ater the missed kickI was checking for possible yellow flags(UM was playing against not only the eleven FSU players but also the referees. Those ACC referees were flagging UM so much that even the ABC announcers were shocked). Realizing there were no flags, I jumped on the couch and started bouncing up and down the couch and thanking God for the missed field goal. I was shaking for about two hours after the game.Outside of the house, there was nowhere to celebrate in this rat (I mean wolverine) county.

of course – this was all while sitting in my bleacher seat at the Almighty OB!!!

GO MIAMI HURRICANES!!!!!!!!!!

Denisse Lopez, Miami, FL : Right after the ball went wide left i was like “OMG” and started to scream and jumpin around. I was so HAPPY! At the beginning of the game i heard that RIX said that he been waiting for this game for a year now and that it was pay back time so i saw him after the ball didnt make it and i started to say “What u got to say bout that” and started to laugh at him. Then i went to my sister and screamed at her ears. I asked my dad to pass by the Orange Bowl so we did and there I started to scream some more while my dad honked. This game was a close game but a GREAT ONE.

CANES # 1 BABY!!!!!!!p.s I LUV U KEN

Megan H. Faulkenberry, Coral Gables, FL : I screamed like crazy and rushed for the exit so i wouldn’t be trampled by my fellow crazy canes fans!!

Rafael M Jadoo, Miami, Fl: I was on the phone with my sister and friend yelling “WIDE LEFT, WIDE LEFT”! Then I ran outside my house jumping up and down yelling at the top of my lungs! GO CANES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Traynor, Andrew, Corpus Christi, TX: Ran around my house like an animal. I thought that kicker got what he deserved, after his second kick you clearly see him saying, “Take that …..!” It was directed to one of our db’s, so whiny Xavier, “Take THAT …!!!!!!!!” Gooooooooo CANES!!!!!!

Vince Woodruff, L, spartanburg : After feeling so frustrated that our team made a plethra of mistakes throughout the game, I was feeling at ease until Capshaw made his 3-yard punt. Our defense tried to make the clock run out, but to no avail. I think that I stopped breathing until the field goal was kicked and missed…whewww….thank God, I can breathe again!!

SCHERRY L. DAVIDSON, CHRISTIANSBURG VA : my husband who is a dedicated florida state fan was distraut. i teased and danced, did the florida state song. printed everything i could about my hurricanes, and put them all over our livingroom wall. i have been a faithful hurricane fan for over 15yrs. win or loose. i cannot wait til we beat the va tech hokies. i live in hokie country and i detest them. i will be wearing my hurricane gear all week long to tease my husband and the hokie fans i work with. this will be something i will not let my husband live down!!!! GO CANES!!!

Matthew Fulson, kansas city Ks: First I gave the finger of hex to the FSU kicker and when it went wide left ran outside with Screams of joy.

John Patterson, Forest Hills, NY: I watched the UM-FSU in a small New York City apartment on TV with two of my friends from Kendall (Jason Gross and Josh Haness) who had Family Fun Zone passes for the Canes games with me from ’86-’90 during our high school years back home. I kept telling the fellas when it was 27-14 that Steve Walsh brought the Canes back from 19-3 at Doak Campbell in ’87, and that all we needed was one break in the 4th quarter for Kenny and the offense to turn it around. We all knelt down to pray when Beitia lined up for it, and I yelled Wide Left for a change as the Noles hurried onto the field to get the snap off. When it started snaking left, we opened up Jason’s apartment window and begin shrieking “You ain’t #1 till you beat #1” and “Miami in da house” into the rain and mist on West 14th Street, 1000 miles away from the OB where we never saw the Canes lose a home game in our adolescent lives. For a moment again in adult life in NYC, all was “right” with the universe again!

Allen Johnson, deltonaFL,: The first thing I did was yell.”HE MISSED IT”.Then had a giant family group hug in the middle of the living room. Amazing game .GO CANES

Andy Johnson, Baltimore, Maryland: Was on the phone with another Miami alum and shared the final 5 minutes watching the game and discussing our thoughts for the outcome.

As FSU lined up for the field goal attempt, we both prayed for “Wide Right IV” but enjoyed the “Wide Left I”. We almost called it.

I couldn’t be believe it. I thought I was dreaming. It was another story book finish in favor of the canes.

It was great to enjoy that moment with another Miami alum.

john thomas R, afton, mn : i am a bush pilot in alaska. i had the morning off to watch the game. i ran around my apartment screaming and yelling jumping up and down. all the while my roomate (non-sports enthusiast) got realy scared and nervous.

Maggie Machado, Miami, Florida: I was having lunch with my husband at a deli across US # 1 from the Coral Gables campus. I stood, frozen, with my coke in my left and my right hand covering my mouth while he kicked. When the he missed, I raised both my arms in joy and drenched my husband, who was sitting eating his sandwich, with my Coke. He said it was the best drenching he ever got, and well worth it!

Derek Coe, north lauderdale, fla At first glance,I thought that it was good. Then as the ball veered to the left I just started screaming and jumping on anybody and everybody. There was just so much excitement!!!!!

CANES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark, Swasey, Northport, NY: I thought the game was over when they spiked the ball because there was some confusion that the pay clock expired. Then they went for the feel goal and it was wide left!! I was so excited my kids and wife look at me and smiled and said yea, I jumped up and down like I have been know to do when the canes win a tight one!! And just think I had to listen to the game on our computer on WQAM. That was the only thing my generator was running due to the power outage on Long Island (no cable either). Thank God for WQAM!! See ya when you play Rutgers on Nov. 2!!GO CANES..

luke brumback, winchester Va: i ran around my front yard, still in my pajamas. Scream and yelling were number 1, MIAMI is number 1. we cant be beat. i ran around the front yard for 15 minutes. i didnt care if people were making fun of me. im a die hard fan. MIAMI’S number 1

Kevin Bost, Lawrence, Kansas: Jumped up and down!!! Then I called back all the so-called FSU fans and Miami haters that kept calling me when FSU was ahead… Told them have fun in the weedwacker.com bowl….. GO CANES!!

CURTIS L . PRATT, ERIE, PA: AS SOON AS THE KICK WENT WIDE LEFT, I TOSS MY 2 MONTH OLD BABY IN THE AIR , AND COULD NOT BELIEVE WHAT …JUST HAPPENED, BUT IT DID.

GO CANES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CURTIS PRATT

Danielle A. Wynne, Miami, Fl: I was sitting my season ticket section general admission…we were all yelling and screaming during the kick. When that kick just sailed wide left we were jumping up and high fiving each other and hugging each other. We had no idea what else to do. The best part was when Larry Coker came over to our section and began waving his hat. That made us go even more crazy. What a victory!

Susan Lammers, Dubuque, Iowa: I cried.. I looked again in copletely disbelief.. I laughed.. jumped up and down.. dropped the telephone to the floor. (yes, my sister in Alabama called me to make sure I wasnt suicidal)

The rush.. the amazed rush of realizing that Florida State Kicker’s are just cursed.

I will say this.. (and I hope that the Canes are listening) The Canes are great…. incredibly .. and ready for the National Championship… BUT, there are teams out there dieing to strip us down to nothing. Be prepared.. they all want a piece.

Ken Dorsey.. you were off for Florida State. Watch the tape.. look at the ball in the air.. it just doesnt have your beautiful spiral like it should..

Lets not ever let it get this close again.

Remember.. this is STILL the CANES Season!

Victoria Cappello, A, Miami, Fl: At first I had no clue who won. From my view it looked like FSU scored, but guess what?! THEY DIDN’T!!! WE WON!! I was so happy. Throughout the whole game I had faith that we would win! I celebrated with my family. We hugged and screamed and I think i actually saw my dad cry happy tears. That was a first for me. We went out to dinner and a ballon guy made us a ballon ibis. I know it wasn’t the best celebration but the game was awsome and I had a blast. Can’t wait until next year and we beat the Noles again!

Mike Crowley, Boca Raton, FL : I stood up and celebrated with all the other people at the game. I was clapping and screaming chants.

Brent M. Anderson, Martinsburg, WV: As soon as the kick sailed wide left, I went crazy..running and screaming throughout my house. My girlfriend was laughing so hard at me. I ran outside, in my Miami shirt and shorts, and ran up and down the street yelling “Go Canes”. Keep in mind I live in West Virginia, so Canes fans are few and far between up here. The neighbors all came out because they had no idea what was up. I had the neighbors laughing and some even clapping as I ran down the street. What a ball game!! Go Canes!!!

Corinne Weldon, Los Angeles CA: 8 MIAMI HURRICANE FANS watching in Los Angeles California hugged each other and then raised our glasses toasting to our team from 3,000 + miles away. Of course I then had to call all my family & friends back in Miami to say “WIDE LEFT”

Jimmy Bryan, Albuquerque, NM : I exchanged high fives with freinds and watched some very sad looking people on the other side of the bar and yelled “STATE CHAMPS BABY!”

I then called friends I graduated from UM with and we laughed like mad folks!!!!!

Andrew, McKinney, L., Miami, Fl : To start, I am a student at Florida State but grew up in Miami and am a Die-Hard U.M. fan!! Before the game some of my Miami friends and me went and tailgated in front of Doak Cambell Stadium( since we couldn’t go to the game). Then we went to the F.S.U. Baptist Collegiate Ministries building and watched the game in the middle of seminoles. At the very end of the game as F.S.U. was lining up to kick, we all were holding our breath and the kick went up and all the seminoles in the room cheered..until, they saw the referee waving his hands from side to side( the greatest site EVER) and then silence from the seminole fans and disbelief. All the Hurricanes in the room were jumping and screaming and after our hearts stoped racing we piled in my Suburban and headed around F.S.U.’s campus…playing the Miami fight song and ” rock you like a hurricane”. It was probably the best place I could be ( besides, the game) just to see all the seminole fans faces to know that !they just lost to us by a field goal for the 4th time!!!

SMITH, WINTER HAVEN , FLORIDA : i jump up and almost hit my head on my ceiling, and then me and the boys started dancing

ryan cunningham, reidsville, nc: when the kick went wide left i jumped out of my seat and was going crazy in the house. my son looked at me like i was an idiot. he is 3 and he just didnt know what his dad was doing acting that crazy. but i was ecstatic when it went wide!

Christopher Martin S, PEMBROKE PINES, FL: I was sitting in the west end zone as fsu kicker lined up for the win. I looked up in the sky, I said a smallprayer, as i looked up the kicked sailed left…i didnt have enough energy in my body to celebrate. i put my head down as the whole entire stadium shook, i never seen a better game than that. The canes truly have the heart of a champion.

Todd Thomas, Euless, TX : I couldn’t believe my eyes…could it be, wide left! I jumped up and down in Fry’s Electronics store. I ran down the isles, yelling, “Yes, yes, they did it…again!!!” while trying to find my wife. Yes, everyone was looking at me like they were Seminole fans or something. Way to go ‘CANES!

karen l stone, hollywood : stood in awe for a long while, then sat river side and enjoyed the fabulous day, then rode home to the max volume queen tune “we are the champions” – a truly great, great day.

Mercier, Charles, North Augusta, South Carolina: I was sitting on my couch watching the game on television. I was thinking all Capshaw has to do is to punt it to the 5, and our defense will get the job done. Well, as soon as I was thinking, the unimaginable happens. A net 3-5 yard punt. State starts marching. And then the kick. Let me mention that I was by myself. People next door were on their porch drinking coffee. The kinck was up. Goes left, it is no good. I jump off the couch, start screaming, “Yes!” Throwing my arms into the air, as if I were Romberg in my living room. I was boxing the air, as if we had won another championship. Go Canes!

Ralph M Rawls, Orlando, FL:i have a acl tear in my left leg, but when the kick went “WIDE LEFT” i jump out of my chair at work, ran towards the exit and out of nowhere two co-worker jump into my arms and i started jumping up and down with them in my arms.

Victor Ponce, I, Lilburn : Consider the fact that my brother and I both top the 260 pound mark and drinking a lot of cold beer just to numb the pain. As soon as the kick was no good … I tell you what, you never saw two big boys hug and jump up so high. The Eye of the Storm was watching us for the Canes that day.

Tor Storkersen, Inglis: First thing I did was jump up and down like i did 2 years ago. Then I got on the phone and started talking to some of our brief allies (Gators, I live in cocky gator country) who were very happy to see us beat the noles. then I took a nap.

Gary L. Daniels, Gainesville, Fla: As Florida st. set up for the field goal I said to my self he was going to miss this kick. He was talking smack before in previous field goal attemps. when the kick went up I said wide left and it went wide left. Iyelled at the top of my voice and scared my dog. and ran out side and started to dance.Thats the differance between a championship team and an average team. A championship team makes points when they need them, NOT MISS THEM………WIDE LEFT. GARY DANIELS

Matthew, Spencer, T., Louisville, Kentucky: I grabbed my friend and held my finger in the air and yelled at the top of my lungs. Then I jumped around the house still screaming. Go Canes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Miami=State Champs, Back to Back National Champions, Heismen Trophy winner-Ken Dorsey, and the best team in the world.

Oscar Cabrera, Miami, FL: I was at my cousin’s house when the game was 17-14, I decide to tell my dad to drive around the stadium for good luck, It started working but not really the full progress. I say forget it and I conclude the game at my house, I brought my UM stuff to the living room like every saturday, they connected with 2 TDs, one by Dorsey’s pass to Beard and the run by Geathers and I was excited just like every other Hurricane @ the orange and in other places. Well while they mantained their lead 28-27, I thought Capshaw blew the game, because of the 4 yard punt. While they were stoping Greg Jones, I was nervous cause Beitia connected with a 45 and 42 earlier that day. When the clock was @ :01, I was panicking and I was saying….b/c “we’re I was about to see them lose, so I was semi-covering my eyes, and I see that it was Wide Left, and I yelled “Wide Left, we won, we won, we won.” I’ll admit it was a good game, and it was exciting while it lasted.

Susan K. Rusk,Delray Beach, Fl. : As any UM MOM would do, I was celebrating crying over the phone to my daughter, Toma, a ’94 alum, who is in Korea, crying…and crying. I was on my knees. I felt a little bad because I was praying to God, “Please, Lord, let him miss this kick!” Prayers do become reality.

alan smithers, mexico, NY: The last minute of the game I had my son, Derek, from Bangor, Maine on the land phone in my left ear and my friend,Pete, from San Diego on the cell phone in my right ear and I was talking or should I say yelling to them at the same time and we were all going crazy and when the kick was wide left we all starting screaming at once we were so elated. We are all huge Cane fans as we all lived in Miami at once and were season ticket holders and Pete and I were Hurricane Club members and I still am. I still go to all the games they play up this way and my son joins me when he can. Go Canes!

Ryan Young, Royal Palm Beach Fl: I was at the Orange Bowl in section A. After the miss I jumped up and down screaming and hugging my fellow Cane fans. Afterwards, we hung around the Orang Bowl for about 30 minutes in total shock. That was the best football game I’ve ever seen!

Thad Lee, miami, FL: I was at the Orange BowlSec 15 Row 5 Seat 20, “WHAT A GAME” DefinItely an ESPN CLASSIC

Todd Settanni, New York, NY : I started breathing again, then started celebrating with fellow cane fans in the bar we were at.

Spent rest of day trying to recover from being emotionally drained from that game

Keith Rasmussen, Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin: Jumped off the bar stool and ran around the bar screaming, and bought a round of shots for those who were there.

Lamar Gray, Ocala, Fla.: I was sitting or should I say standing in the west end zone.I hugged my wife and my 10 year old daughter and got crazy with all the other cane fans that sit sit around me every game.

1Name : Charles Johnson, Germantown, MD: Double Decade Hurricane Fan

I ran screaming and dove on top of my Uncle’s covered hot tub. I pounded the hard mat that covers it about three times really hard then ran back into the room to dap up everyone who was watching the game with me, even my friend B who is a die hard VA Tech fan who was quietly pulling for FSU. I’m so looking forward to the VA Tech game, but first we have to prepare for a WV team that runs the ball really well.

CJGermantown Hurricane Connection

Malachi Jimenez, Port St. Lucie, FL: First, I turned off the TV right when FSU attempted the field goal. I did not want to have the memory of FSU kicking the winning points.I turned it back on just as the officials were waving the no good signal. After screaming at the top of my lungs, I just sat there in awe…a mix of astonishment and relief…

roy haslem jr., woodbridge, va: after watching the kick go “wide left” i jumped out of my seat almost hitting the ceiling. ran to my son who was sleeping at the time, picked him up and started gong in circles. i ran for my cel phone to call the 10 CANE haters who had just blew up my phone about 5 minutes earlier. you know what i said to them all? “WHAT NOW” i also went to the mall to get some new CANE gear.

Peter M. Kearns, Morrisville, Pa.: After screaming for joy I called my sister and brother in-law the FSU grads and rubbed it in a little!!

J Deron Breeze, Jacksonville, FL: CRIED tears of JOY for 30 minutes. Then just led the cheers in the end zone. GO CANES.

David J. Bisset, Pembroke Pines, Fl: I was attending a wedding where my wife was a bridesmaid. She was inside the building, and the wedding was already going on for 30 minutes when a friend and I were screaming at the top of our lungs inside my car in the parking lot.

We came back inside, looking like we just ran a marathon. After the ceremony was over and my wife was coming up the aisle, my friend and I were whispering “WIDE LEFT!!!!!!!!”. Even the groom was overjoyed (most people in the reception line after the wedding never realized his happiness wasn’t just because of his newlywed status).

Robert G. Baxley Savannah, GA: As the kick sailed wide left, I just started sobbing uncontrollably with tears of joy and relief. I kept thinking to myself “This is another team of destiny just like last year’s team. This team is going to win the national championship because it is their destiny.” Go Canes!

Bryce Williams, L, Miami, Fl: My neighbors probably thought that i was a nut case. I sat on the couch and watched to ball sail, and thought that it was good at first. When it hooked left all I could do was scream, partially b/c the canes prevailed of course, but mostly b/c I couldn’t believe that they missed a FG again to give us the game. I thought for sure that fate was on FSU’s side with the shanked punt and then the lame duck first down to gardner. Part of me had accepted a tough loss to a tough rival but the other part of me held onto the hope of a repeat of history. Though history was not completely identical it was close enough to satisfy me and keep the streak going. Go CANES!!!!!

cory golden, easton pennsylvania : i painted my whole body in orange and streaked through my neighborhood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Cumanamchageeeee

Jordan, Loperena, MLake Zurich, IL: I was watching the game with my dad in our family room. My cousin goes to Florida State and i called her and emailed her as soon as the game was over. Yeah, I think you know they weren’t friendly emails and calls. I am the only Miami fan within miles around here, a Chicago Northwest Suburb. But, I still parade my Cane pride by wearing their clothes and decorating my bedroom window before big games. -Jordan LoperenaP.S. I was a Miami fan before their National Championship!

Alicia heard, Miami, florida: When I seen that the field goal I just put my head down and thanked God!

Ernest Whitehead , Leeds, AL: I went to a soccer game that I had to coach. We became down 2-0 after the first half. I quickly explain the game today between FSU and Miami. Never quit. No matter how many mistakes you make, do not quit. My kids came back to win 3 to 2. I think that really helped. They know how much I love Miami and wanted to make me happy.

ronald nasados, pottsville,pa: before the kick i was standing in front of the tv with the remote in my hand, after the kick was missed i threw off my green visor i was wearing and fell to my knees and prayed to god that we had won this game.

Jenny Wallace, Pembroke Pines, FL: I couldn’t see the field (everyone standing in front of me) and I honestly thought that florida state made the field goal. I could feel my heart in my throat. I looked at the field and the miami players were cheering. I turned to my brother and the guy who sits behind me and they both were cheering, screaming that the field goal was no good. I could have cried with joy.

Then I just stood still watching the field and the players celebrating.

What a moment.

Rawley M. Guerrero, Coral Gables, Florida: We were silent because we were not sure what happened. But all we could see was cheering Canes fans. Then we went crazy screaming our heads off. I fell off of my seat and was caught by the woman behind me.

Wide Left I. I am a traditionalist. I can hardly wait for next year when we get Wide Left II!!!

Carlos Bermudez, MIramar:What a great game, instant classic. Section 26 was rocking, complete meyham. After the game I just sat in the stands for a second to reflect on what a great game it was. Just watching all the celebration as the players walk back to the locker room. That is why you play the game, I thought. Afterward I braved the traffic back to Broward and hit the Ale House, for a celebratory dinner with my wife, her first taste of Miami/FSU live in an electric old lady, the legend of 80k-plus filled OB. It’s why you play the game, college football in its purest form.

oooooohhhhhhhhOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH

C…A…N…E…S…CANES!

joan crystal, elkins park pa: i passed a stress test on friday so i knew i wasn’t having a heart attack BUT…i had held my breath for so long i thought this is the end and i won’t know who won!!!Thank you ibis…we needed to win this one and g-d bless wide left

mark macnevins, brockton, mass.: absolutely went bananas high fiving my buddy[who also is a big canes fan].then made a couple calls to friends in south florida to extend the celebration.we will be in tenn.on nov.9 and also in the orange bowl against v.tech.now that we have ‘the always one squeeker’out of the way we can storm our way to championship no.6.although i am still in shock from yet another wide kick,it is very good to know the canes can beat a good team when they are not playing with their ‘a-game’.it always takes a little luck but maybe thats just A CANES THING…..YOU WOULDNT UNDERSTAND.

Mike Hayden, Casselberry, FL: As soon as I saw the birth of what I call, “WIDE LEFT 1: THE NEXT GENERATION”, I had already fallen out of my chair and was cheering to the top of my lungs. I immediately reached for my bottle of white shoe polish and adorned my minivan with the following:

REAR WINDOW: “Wide Left 1: The Next Generation. Thanks FSU !!”
SIDE REAR QUARTER WINDOWS: Uprights with a football to the LEFT of the uprights.
LEFT SIDE MAIN WINDOW: Canes – 28 FSU – 27.
RIGHT SIDE SLIDING DOOR WINDOW:
MIAMI #1. CAN YOU SAY – REPEAT TITLES!!

Once my artwork was complete, I drove all over the greater Orlando highways and Interstate 4 until nightfall. I got flipped off by every Seminole fan I passed and cheers from a few Gator fans. Go Canes!!

Barbara Peck S, Ft. Knox, KY: My husband and I, both c/o ’93, were unable to attend homecoming because he is in the Army, and stationed at Ft. Knox. However, our flag was flying, and we were all dressed up, ready for another Miami victory. When FSU kicked wide left, we jumped up and down all around our living room, screaming at the top of our lungs, while our phone rung off the hook with relatives calling to congratulate us. While we haven’t had any official celebrations yet, it’s always fun to mouth off at work around all these Kentucky and Tennessee fans. Our celebrations are yet to come! And even though we are far from Miami, our hearts are still there, and the celebrations are just as sweet.
Barbara Whidden Peck
Dan Peck

Judy Dodaro, Monaca, Pa : Amazing victory. We screamed, we jumped up and down, then went for a celebration ride….. Go Canes! Hickory Dickory DOAK, the Noles did Choke!!!

James Fitzpatrick, Studio City, California: I ran out onto my street screaming “The ‘Canes Won, the ‘Canes Won, the ‘Canes Won!” After about ten more times of doing that, one of my dozen or so neighbors that were outside doing whatever said, “Who’s that?” So I just ran back inside and watched the postgame in total and utter elation.

Craig Dorn, Covington Ga.: I jumped about 3ft. in the air, and said yes, yes, yes, yes. then I thru my hands in the air and, said Thank you Jesus!

ty hartfield, chicago il: ran out the house and started to kicking my heels together.

Johnathon Clay Tyler, miami Fl: First i looked to the person next to me and i yelled “What the heck just happened.” Then he screamed “Wide left.” Right when he said that i ran up and down my row and hugged everyone who was there. Then as a group we started the oooooo C-A-N-E-S chant. It was awesome

Pat Ahearn, Boonton, NJ: I was standing in my mother’s kitchen, praying for a block, a bad snap…anything. As the ball sailed toward the upright, I tried a Fisk-like wave of my arms and once I saw the crowd explode behind the end zone, I jumped around the kitchen like a six year old.It certainly wasn’t the ending I had hoped for, but it’ll certainly work.

david parsons, florham park, new jersey: a bunch of us were dressed all in hurricanes attire drinking and eating pizza in this small pub which is also run by a miami alumnis. he had his son in an orange frank gore jersey bartending.just before THE KICK he made the announcement ” IF HE MISSES THE KICK ALL DRINKS AND FOOD ARE ON ME”. WOW DID WE EVER DRINK TO THAT. THE OUTCOME COULDN’T HAVE BEEN SWEETER

Tony Perez, Miami, FL: I was standing on the bleacher in the west enzone yelling as loud as I could!

I must have hugged and high fived at least thirty people around me including those in my party!

I then joined Ibis and the other 82,000 fans in the C-A-N-E-S – CANES chant!

I stuck around for almost an hour after the game ended and danced, cheered and was ecstatic we won!

Then to cap off the win – Tailgate with great food, champagne and friends until about 7pm – Started the day at the parking lot at 6am with champagne (Mimosas) and finished it with champagne – and another Hurricanes Victory!

IT’S GREAT TO BE A MIAMI HURRICANE!

Genevieve Gorman, Miami, FL: I saw the FSU players running on the feild and i started to cry! Then I saw the UM players run on the feild and i heard people screaming wide left! Wide left! I was so happy!!!!!!!!! I was just screaming at the FSU fans how does that feel!! Whats wrong now!

eliseo perez b., apo-ap: after the wide left 1 kick :D……….. i went to all the cane haters here stationed with me in japan and collected my $300.00 i won in bets……………

GO CANES…………………………

Travis G. Cox,Panama City, FL: Before the kick, I just looked up and closed my eyes, and said, “Oh no God! Not AGAIN! This is NOT what I wanted to see!” But then again, maybe it was. Because FSU flubbed yet another kick. After the kicked sailed Wide LEFT (imagine that) I just jumped up and down and started screaming, and beating on the walls of my apartment, and then I called all of my friends that I knew were also watching the game and cheering on our beloved Hurricanes. I also popped open a celebratory victory beer. Heck, I NEEDED a couple drinks after a game like that!

mikey larson, University Heights, OH: I dove across my dorm room floor, ran a lap around my dorm and sang WE ARE #1 all day long GO CANES

Jonathan M Hutner, San Ramon, CA: The group was small, but determined at the Bayside Sports Bar and Grill in the Cow Hollow neighborhood in San Francisco. After Jason Geathers’ 11 yard romp to put the Canes up 28-27 emotions were high. Everyone else in the place, particulary the Ohio State fans, were rooting against us. As Xavier Beitia lined up for the game’s final play and then hooked the ball WIDE LEFT, we all erupted. High fives, hugs, cheering and sighs of relief…as the Canes had fought back and shown the poise of champions…and the rickety old horseshoe showed she still has some magic left in her yet!

andrew m gonzalez, weston, fl: If the net wasn’t there I could have caught the ball. I hugged my friends and we all just shook our heads and kept repeating, “I can’t believe that just happened”.

10 years ago I was in attendence for Wide Right II. Two years ago I sat in the west endzone for Wide Right III. Now I was in the perfect spot once again for “Wide Left I”. Unbelievable.

Pierre Gaunaurd, Miami, FL: I was at the game and I had never heard a noise that loud before that final play in my life. I though FSU had the game won. They hadn’t missed a kick the whole game. I just started jumping everywhere and got pushed back when I started leaning over the railing.

Jonathan Northington, Hamilton, AL: I jumped out of my chair with both hands raised in the air and ran around my friend’s living room, yellin “YES YES. WE WON. WE WON.” Then bragged about how I told his dad that I knew Miami would win. GO CANES!!!!

Jay Whannel, Waverly, IA: Jumped up and down and screamed, woke up my roommate trying to sleep.

Terry Homan, Sioux City, IA: I was at work managing my team and took a knee in front of the TV and prayed that they would miss it again. I knew once he kicked it that my prayer was answered!!! I got up and ran all the way to the end of the building going through the other Team’s sales pod’s and letting the Florida State fans know they missed the field goal once again!!!

I love it, this game is what Miami football is all about!!!!! The coolest thing was that one of my sales reps was on the phone selling a computer to a player who played for Miami as tight end in 1967. We both were going nuts!!!

Go Canes!!!

David Sisk, Waynesboro, TN: When the cursed kick sailed left, I yelled, jumped off the couch, and then sprinted through the kitchen. About now, I am really feeling a rush. I took my Cane flag, ran across the street, and planted it in my neighbor’s yard, right in front of their huge T. You see, I am a huge Cane fan in Tennessee. Oh yeah, I came in and called my brother in-law. I let him know they’ve got a huge butt-kicking coming in November.

I thought to myself…”I can’t believe it came down to a kick again…and FSU missed.” I just couldn’t believe we came all the way back and beat them on a last second field goal miss.

The Tradition Continues GO CANES!!!!!

Jason Parker, Tallahassee, FL: Realized how lucky the Hurricanes got. Miami players know that, FSU players know that. Miami got lucky on four plays in the fourth quarter. but um still won the game, so congrats from the fans here at FSU…

Holly Saunders, Las Vegas: I ran to the place in the stadium where my girlfriends were, and we cried! We were SO happy, we just sat and cried! I am a freshman, and this was JUST the start of a long series of UM wins over FSU for me!!!!

Holly Saunders

Michae spencer L, kailua, HI: well i’m in the navy and im getting ready to ship out in Dec. so it made my day so much better to go shopping and i treated my family to dinner.

Jesse J Lockhart, Hurlburt Field, Florida: I was watching the game with friends on a military base not too far from tallahassee. I was one of the most heart-pounding, and greatest games i’ve seen yet. When Kapshaw’s punt gave FSU good field position I was shaking my head knowing it was going to come down to a field goal again. I knew about the history of wide right, but would it happen for a forth time? FSU’s kickier looked good the whole day. I was on my knees praying for another outcome like years past. When that kick sailed left I was jumping up and down screaming for joy. Nothing could control my emotions at that time. Indeed a miracle happend again. This time it just sail WIDE LEFT! UM #1 4-ever!

shawn gammons, battle creek, mi: I jumped to da ceiling and ran around the in every room in the house until I was tired.

Eddie W. Jackson, Yorktown, VA: I spoke. I did not speak for the last 8:54. I still can not believe we one that game. Unreal…Go Canes

Larry Tommasi, Miami Fl: Almost got into an accident.

Eckardt, Stephanie, Miami, Fl: Seriously, I think that my friends and I were gonna have a heart attack throughout the entire game, especially at the last second. We held our breaths. Some looked. Others covered their faces. At first it seemed that it had gone in, so there was a split-second “Noooooooo,” but then when the officials made it clear that it was no good, we cried, we jumped, we hugged, we were so thankful! CANES are STILL #1!!!

Michael Rothman, S.Miami, Florida: I just stayed in my seat (43 Yard Line under shade Section T Row 20) realizing that I had the most incredible event in my life to be part of this fantastic game thinking that they we were going to lose and then pull the most incredible 2 drives late 4th Quarter, that I was crying and realizing what a gREAT tEAM TO NEVER GIVE UP AND KEEP THE wINNING sTREAK ALIVE, IN SUCH A MEMORABLE FASHION TODAY; EVEN OVERCOMING MANY POOR rEFERREE CALLS.I just sat alone in peace for a good 15 minutes!

William Moore, Jensen Beach, FL: Well, my heart started beating again, and I was able to breathe a BIG sigh of relief. That is what CHAMPIONS are made of.

Charlie Fonts,Yarmouthport, MA: It was a rainy day at my house in Cape Cod and as the kick went up i was praying to God. My mind was saying “wide right, wide rght”.WIDE LEFT!. We all wet nuts, my dad picked me up and cheered then I sprinted out side to my front lawn and slid on my belly on the grass yelling “WIDE LEFT, WIDE LEFT!”

Christopher C. Turner,West Point, NY: I am a cadet at west point so I was in the middle of our game. My father was calling my cellphone every score to keep me updated. When he told me that Miami had just scored at it was 28-27 all I could think of was “there is no way this is gonna happen again”. He called me after the kick (while im in my seat at Michie Stadium praying) and says “can you say wide left?”. I think of all things that will be remembered by the TCU fans of this game, was seeing a Cadet Jump up and down yeling and screaming although the team was losing. Destiny!!

Kevin GutierrezLecheria, Anzoategui, Venezuela: I was listening to the game over the internet, and as the kick was up, I could not stop sweating… When I finally heard that it was wide left, I jumped out of my chair, ran around the house and then kissed both my wife and my 2 month old boy…

Kevin Gutierrez,UM Class of 1996,Lecheria – Venezuela

Elton W. Mack, Jacksonville, Fl: I screamed to the top of my lungs!! I could not believe it. 1 second left and such a short field goal; I knew FSU was about to win the game. Oh well, like Vin Diesel said in “The Fast and The Furious,” it doesn’t matter whether you win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning! And I will take this win with pride and a bottle Bacardi. Go Canes!!!

Ryan P. McCarty, Atlanta, GA: Lowered myself into a chair and gradually allowed my heart rate to return to normal from about 200.

Joe Schmooch, altamonte springs: Honestly, I cracked up. Knowing the history between these things, this seemed like the most improbable ending. A fourth game decided by a missed fg? You gotta be kidding me. It seemed hillarioust that Florida State can be so unlucky. What a cruel way to looose. But as a Miami Fan, it was a relief it did. That was way to close. But in either way, the team deserved this win after the way they fought back from the hole they were in during the 4th quater. They were resilient and showed what true champions are made of/GO CANES!

lori bair, jacksonville: i screamed, cried, and slappin my legs while i was sitting downmy heart was poundedthat was the best game ever

Robert E. Bowers,Jacksonville, Fla.: Well, after I quit holding my breath, my first thought was “Isn’t this different?”. It was like I knew something would happen, but not what it would be. I’ll take them any way I can get them. Great fourth quarter. Keep it up!!!!

Eric Hughes, Austin, TX: I was watching the game at work with 2 U Texas fans. I was hoping the clock would run out but FSU quickly snapped and downed it. When the kick went left I jumped up and down and screamed my jubilation, much to my chagrin of the U T fans. I think they wanted an upset in the event of a UTex win. I’m proud of theose ‘Canes, I think they should have played better but now they have another big game to grow on before West Virginia. With a week off and some effective planning they should be in Tempe come January.
