Sept 28 Hurricane Club event recap:
On September 28, we hosted an open house for our Hurricane Club members. We had a great turnout! About 100 Hurricane Club members plus their families and friends attended the festivities. The event began at 4pm and ran until about 7pm. We shuttled donors and their family’s to/from the Hall of Fame/Convo Center where David Touhey, General Manager of the Convo Center (works for Global Spectrum Management), Patrick McGrew, Director of Facilities for the Convocation Center (also works for Global Spectrum) and Nick Longone, with Turner Construction ran the tours. They went into the coaches offices, locker rooms, training room, onto the floor where the court will be, the concourse level where they saw the concession stands, merchandise stands and restrooms. Many were amazed by how small and intimate the 7,000 seat building was. The last row is roughly only 94 feet from the court! Many donors found this as a great opportunity to buy their seats at the Convocation Center. Thank you to everyone who helped with this event.

New Facts/Figures & Construction Update:

Turner has begun putting together the retractable student seats in sections 117/118. The seats are mounted on a wood floor and will be VERY loud when they stomp on the ground! And check out the leg room they will have! The lockers have been installed in the men’s, women’s and visiting teams locker rooms. The Hurricanes’ lockers are really nice! I wouldn’t say the same for the visiting team’s lockers.
