Norris Leads Women's Cross Country

Gainesville, FL (hurricanesports.com) – Senior Melissa Norris (Pembroke Pines, FL) finished 46th with a time of 23:36.92 to lead the University of Miami women’s cross country team at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, FL.
Miami (291 points) finished 11th out of 23 teams. South Florida won the team title with a total of 30 points. Kentucky finished second with 39 points.
The Hurricanes had five runners finish in the top-100. Other Hurricanes running well included senior Saraque Whittaker (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) finished 50th with a time of 23:46.31, sophomore Marilyn Ruiz (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) who finished 64th (24:07.42), junior Christian Delgadillo who took 72nd (24:25.38) and senior Patricia Pearson (Jacksonville, FL) who finished 98th (25:06.05).
The Hurricanes return to action on October 19 when they host Florida International and Florida Atlantic in a tri-meet in Coral Gables, FL.
