Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – Seventy University of Miami student-athletes have received their degrees in on-campus ceremonies today, Friday, May 10.

The group includes student-athletes from all sports, with the exception of volleyball which just began competition this year, and represents seven of the university’s schools and colleges – School of Architecture, College of Arts and Sciences,School of Business Administration, School of Communication, School of Education College of Engineering and School of International Studies. Fourteen of those being honored earned their undergraduate degrees in December 2001.

“The graduates have achieved a milestone in their academic careers. Their graduating is the academic equivalent of their winning a bowl game or an NCAA competition”, UM Athletic Director Paul Dee commented. “The entire athletic department is extremely proud of what they have accomplished.”
