Hilland Receives At-Large Bid To NCAA Golf Championship

Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami sophomore Camilla Hilland (Lommedalen, Norway) received an at-large bid to the NCAA Women’s Golf East Regional Championship, May 9-11, at the University Club in Baton Rouge, LA.
Hilland, ranked 68th in the nation, finished in the top-20 of all nine tournaments this season, including six top-10’s, and victory at the Ryder/Florida Women’s Collegiate Golf Championships. Her victory at the Ryder Championship marked the first time since 1988 (Tracy Kerdyk) that a Hurricane took home the state individual title.
A total of three regional tournaments will be conducted May 9-11 to determine the field for the NCAA Championship finals, May 21-24, at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, WA. The other two regional sites include the Central Regional in East Lansing, MI and the West Regional in Stanford, CA.
A total of 324 participants were selected for regional competition. Of those players, 126 will advance to the championship finals. Eight teams and two individuals will advance from each region.
EAST REGIONAL
The East regional will be played May 9-11 at University Club, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, hosted by Louisiana State University. Conference automatic qualifiers are indicated in parenthesis next to the institution.
