Coral Gables, FL (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami senior Jabari Ennis (Kingston, Jamaica) won the pole vault with a mark of 5.30 meters (17-04.50) while senior Gus Martin (Miami Northwestern) won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.17 to highlight the day’s competition at the Hurricane Invitational held at Cobb Stadium in Coral Gables, FL.

Ennis’ vault places him second on UM’s career list and provisionally qualifies him for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 29-June 5, in Baton Rouge, LA.

Martin, the 2002 BIG EAST Champion in the 60-meter hurdles, followed his victory in the 110-hurdles by joining sophomore Willis McGahee (Miami Central), senior Aaron Moser (Bonne Terre, MO) and junior Andre Johnson (Miami Senior) in qualifying for the BIG EAST Championships in 4×100-meter relay. The foursome took fourth in a time of 40.67.

Also qualifying for the BIG EAST Championships was senior Jeff Gaulrapp (Baldwinsville, NY) in the 5000-meters. Gaulrapp recorded a time of 14:57.01 in taking third.

The Hurricanes return to action on March 23 at the FIU Invitational in Miami, FL.
