Diving to Compete at Bulldog Invitational

Coral Gables,Fla. – The Miami diving team travels to the University of Georgia to competein the Bulldog Invitational on March 1.
TheHurricanes are coming off a dominant performance at the BIG EAST Championshipslast weekend in Uniondale, New York.
Senior Imre Lengyel (Budapest, Hungary) was named BIG EAST Most Outstanding Men’sDiver, senior Michelle Davison (Columbia, S.C.) was named BIG EAST Most OutstandingWomen’s Diver and head diving coach Randy Ableman took BIG EAST Men’s and Women’sDiving Coach of the Year honors.
The Miami men’s team swept the four top spots in both the 1- and 3-meter divingevents with Lengyel taking first in both competitions. Lengyel finished with 381.30points in the 1-meter and 665.80 points in the 3-meter.
For the women, Davison won the 1-meter competition with 300.65 points and wasnamed best in the BIG EAST. Junior Katie Beth Bryant (Chatham, Ill.) won the 3-meterwith 561.85 points.
UM will next compete in the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships at the Universityof Kentucky on March 14-15.
