Cramer Named BIG EAST Video Coordinator of the Year
Feb. 15, 2002
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The membership of the Collegiate Sports Video Association recently announced that Stewart Cramer, Video Coordinator for the University of Miami’s athletic department, has been selected as the BIG East Conference Video Coordinator of the Year.
Cramer’s peers within the BIG EAST selected him for the honor, which will be presented at this year’s CSVA conference to be held in May. The honor makes Cramer a candidate for the CSVA/Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year Award voted on by members of the Collegiate Sports Video Association.
“We feel Stewart’s the best in the business and it’s great to see his peers also recognize what he’s done,” said Miami head football coach Larry Coker. “Stewart’s one of those people who rarely gets rewarded fully for the hours he puts in, but our program benefits in countless ways because of his efforts. We wouldn’t be able to be as successful without him and this honor is well deserved.”
A native of South Lyon, Michigan, Cramer just completed his sixth football season with the Hurricanes. He spent two years as an assistant video coordinator and four years overseeing coaching video needs for the University of Miami’s athletic department.
Cramer graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts. His first experience with servicing a football program’s audio-visual needs came at Central Michigan University when he took on the role of video coordinator. With no manuals or instruction, Cramer taught himself the finer points of editing game video.
Cramer credits the success of the Miami Hurricane Video Department to the same characteristics that have forged a National Champion football program.
“The coaching staff, administration and support staffs work really well together,” Cramer said. “The perfect team.”
