Women's Golf Travels To Hatter Fall Classic

Coral Gables, FL – The University of Miami women’s golf team will participate in the 2001 Hatter Fall Classic, October 19-21, at Mission Inn Golf & Tennis Resort in Howie-In-The-Hills, FL.

The tournament should be highly competitive with nine of the top-100 teams in the nation competing in the 18-team field. Joining Miami, which is ranked 74th in the latest GolfWeek Poll, will be No. 11 Michigan, No. 33 Indiana, No. 45 Central Florida, No. 64 Florida State, No. 82 North Carolina State, No. 89 Campbell, No. 94 Georgia State and No. 95 Charleston Southern.

Rounding out the field is host Stetson, Jacksonville State, Florida Atlantic, Daytona Beach Community College, Winthrop, Western Michigan, Florida Southern, Rollins and Florida International.

The tournament will be played on the par-72, 6015 yard, El Campeon Course.

Miami, competing in its second tournament this fall, was led last weekend at the Beacon Woods Invitational by sophomore Camilla Hilland. Hilland finished fourth with a three-round total of 220 (75-74-71) and broke into the top-100 of this week’s GolfWeek Collegiate Golf rankings (100th).
