A Letter From Larry
Oct. 16, 2001
Dear Hurricane Fans,
I hope this letter finds many of you celebrating over the great win against Florida State this past Saturday. We were very pleased to return to Miami with a victory over FSU, but its time to refocus our attention and concentrate on the games ahead. Before we go too far, on behalf of the team and coaching staff, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for all of your support and encouragement this past weekend. Our fans play a huge role in our success and all of you contributed to the win. It was amazing for us to see over 10,000 fans dressed in orange and green in the stands of Doak Campbell Stadium and incredible to know that all of you were behind us every step of the way. Your excitement level and passion for Hurricane football truly energizes the team.
We need this type of support and excitement at all of our games. As we look ahead, there are still several tough competitors to come and I would like to challenge all of you to help us reach our ultimate goal…the National Championship!
Show your Miami Hurricane pride and support and let’s prove to the nation that this University may be small, but we are powerful and the best team in the country.
Please join us for our next game at the Orange Bowl, on Thursday, October 25th at 7:00 PM as we take on West Virginia University. We are ranked #1 today, but it’s a long road ahead and we need your help to get there! Go Canes!
Thanks for your support,
Larry Coker
University of Miami Head Football Coach
