Women's Golf In Eighth At Beacon Woods

Bayonet Point, FL (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team fired an opening round 311 and is in eighth-place after the first day of competition at the Beacon Woods Invitational being held at Beacon Woods Country Club in Bayonet Point, FL.
South Florida leads the competition after shooting a first round 295. Mississippi (297) and Louisville (297) are tied for second while Central Florida (302) is fourth.
The Hurricanes were led on day one by sophomore Camilla Hilland (Lommedalen, Norway) who posted an opening-round 75 and is in a tie for 15th. Freshman Tina Miller (Miami – Archbishop Curley Notre Dame) is currently tied for 24th after shooting a first round 77. Also playing well was sophomore Katie Buscemi (Plantation – Western High School) who is tied for 32nd after recording a 78 on Friday.
Second-round competition will take place Saturday with the third and final round taking place on Sunday.
