Athletics Postpones All Athletic Events Through Sunday

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) — – The University of Miami has postponed all athletic events throughout the weekend out of respect for the victims of the tragic attacks this week in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania.

The top-ranked Miami Hurricanes football team was to host No. 13 Washington on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the Orange Bowl, but the game will be re-scheduled for a later date in the season.

The No. 14 UM women’s soccer team was scheduled to travel to Tallahassee to face No. 17 Florida State today, but was unable due to the closing of the country’s airports.

The Miami cross-country teams and women’s volleyball team was to go cross-town to participate in the Florida International Invitational, which are now postponed and may be re-scheduled.
