Volleyball's Return Archived at Hall of Fame

Coral Gables, Fla. – (www.hurricanesports.com) – Volleyball returned tothe Miami campus on September 7th and items from the inaugural match are now ondisplay within the Hall of Fame.
Included in the display is a volleyball autographed by the 2001 coaches and teammembers, a green No.4 jersey, a pair of knee pads, a 2001 schedule and the programfrom the Hurricane Invitational.
The items were unveiled at the Hall of Fame during a ceremony following Miami’s3-0 victory over Wofford at the Knight Sports Complex. Earlier that afternoon,the Hurricanes swept Long Island 3-0 in the first match played on the Miami campusin almost 20 years.
Prior to the match against Wofford, Miami celebrated the return of volleyballto the UM campus with a ceremonial ‘First Serve’. University of Miami PresidentDonna Shalala, Athletic Director Paul Dee and Head Volleyball Coach Nicole Lantagnejoined former UM volleyball players on the court for the serve.
