UM Golfers 14th At Bryan National

Brown Summit, NC (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s golf team shot an opening-round 322 and is a tie for 14th after the first day of competition at Bryan National Collegiate Golf Tournament in Brown Summit, NC.
No. 1 ranked Duke opened with score of 289 to take the first-round lead. The Blue Demons are five strokes ahead of 15th-ranked Oklahoma State and 22nd-ranked Wake Forest who both shot 294 in round one.
Oklahoma State’s Linda Wessberg posted a three-under-par 69 to take a two-stoke lead over Kalen Anderson (Duke), Jessica Fought (UNC Greensboro) and Kacy Thompson (South Carolina).
Miami was led by freshman Camilla Hilland (Limmedalen, Norway) who fired an opening-round 78 and is in a tie for 34th.
Second-round action begins Saturday, April 7 at 8:30 a.m. with the final round taking place on Sunday.
