Emry Finishes Third In Decathlon

Gainesville, FL – University of Miami senior Guy Emry (Monument, CO) posted a two-day total of 7,008 points to finish in third-place in the decathlon at the 58th Coca-Cola Florida Relays in Gainesville, FL.
Mike Nolan (Windsor Legion TC) won the event with a two-day total of 7,767 points while Wake Forest’s JT Kuretich took second with 7,062 points.
Emry, who stood in third after the first day of competition with 3,563 points, recorded season best marks in the 110-meter hurdles (15.05), discus throw (41.08 meters) and 1,500-meter run (4:47.09) to score 3,445 points in day two.
Competition continues later tonight at 8:30 p.m. with the women’s 5,000-meters followed by the men’s 5,000-meters at 9 p.m. Several Hurricanes will begin competition on Friday including Shane Brown and Joseph Mbayen in the 100-meters, Gus Martin and Kenneth Frank in the 110-meter hurdles, Trevor Harris and Sean Mangan in the 400-meters, Scott Sadowski in the 1,500-meters and Aaron Bass in the pole vault.
