SOUTHERN PINES, NC – Freshman Jazmin Cataldo (Paraguay) fired asecond round 73 while sophomore Dominique Gagnon (Dominican Republic)recorded a 75 on Tuesday to lead the University of Miami at the Pine NeedlesWomen’s Collegiate Invitational in Southern Pines, NC.
Gagnon (73-75-148) and Cataldo (75-73-148) are just four strokesbehind the leaders. Kentucky’s Rachel Lester (74-70-144) fired aone-under-par 70 on Tuesday to move into a first-place tie with Campbell’sLaura Torrisi (73-71-144) and Fany Schaeffer of South Florida (71-73-144).
Miami, which shot a total of 309 for the second consecutive day, isin ninth-place. Alabama (291-304-595) and South Florida (301-294-595) leadthe team competition with one day remaining.
Also playing well for the Hurricanes was senior AshleighBarrett-Hamilton (Zimbabwe). Barrett-Hamilton recorded a second round 78 andis in 35th-place with a two round total of 157.
Final round action will take place on Wednesday.
