Swimming Team Fairs Well Against IRCC

Coral Gables, Fla – The University of Miami men’s and women’s swimming team took on Indian River Community College (IRCC), Saturday afternoon in a dual meet held at the Norman Whitten Student Union Pool in Coral Gables, FL.

Elaine Schwartz (Mt. Laurel, NJ) won the 1000-yard freestyle (10:35.21) and the 100-meter butterfly (59.52). Jennifer Weir (Cooper City, FL) took first in both the 50-yard freestyle (25.03) and the 100-yard backstroke (59.16). Courtney Caples (Tuscaloosa, AL) took first in 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.04) and finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (54.18) to lead the Lady Hurricanes.

Wesley Stoddard (Huntsville, AL) who won the 500-yard freestyle (4:41.95) and finished second in the 200-yard freestyle (1:47.51) paced the Hurricane men.

The University of Miami men’s and women’s swimming and diving team returns to action on Thursday, November 16 at the Indiana Invitational, in Bloomington IN.
