Swimming & Diving Fall To Notre Dame

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-Notre Dame University defeated the University of Miamiwomen’s swimming and diving team 199-101, Friday afternoon in a dual meetheld at the Rolf Aquatic Center in South Bend, IN.

Sophomores Emily Spychala (Odessa, FL) and Katie Beth Bryant(Chatham, IL) led Miami diving as Spychala won the thee-meter springboard(326.10) and finished second to Bryant in one-meter springboard 317.10 -291.45.

Freshman Courtney Caples (Tuscaloosa, AL) led UM swimming to a first placefinish in the 400-yard freestyle (3:38.97) and finished first in the200-yard breaststroke (2:21.75) and second in the 100-yard breaststroke.Junior Brittany White also performed well finishing second in the 200-yardfreestyle (1:54.78) and second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:00.48).Miami returns to action Saturday, November 4 against Indian River CommunityCollege in a dual meet starting at 1:00 p.m. at the Norman Whitten StudentUnion Pool.
