UM Golfers In 14th At Lady Paladin

Greenville, SC – The University of Miami women’s golf team shot an opening round 312 and is in 14th place after the first day of competition at the Lady Paladin Invitational in Greenville, SC.
Auburn University, ranked sixth in the nation, fired a first round score of 291 to grab a four-stroke lead over host and 39th-ranked Furman (295) and 25th-ranked Wake Forest (295).
Miami senior Ashleigh Barrett-Hamilton (Zimbabwe) recorded a two-over-par 74 and is in a tie for 19th after one round of competition. Freshmen Jazmin Catraldo (Paraguay) and Camilla Hilland (Norway) both shot 78 on Friday and are tied for 52nd.
Celeste Troche of Auburn recorded a four-under-par 68 to take a two-stroke opening round lead over Wake Forest’s Nuria Clau (70). Jennifer Perri (Furman), Meredeth Ward (Vanderbilt) and Heather Angell (North Carolina) each shot 71 and are tied for third.
Competition resumes on Saturday with the final round taking place on Sunday.
