Miami Swimmers Fall To FSU

Coral Gables, FL – Florida State University defeated both the University of Miami men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams Saturday morning in a dual meet held at the Norman Whitten Student Union Pool in Coral Gables, FL.

The Florida State women defeated Miami, 155-87, while the FSU men knocked off the Hurricanes 158-79.

Junior Brittany White and sophomore Katie Beth Bryant led the Hurricane women. White finished first in the 500-yards freestyle (5:07.38) and 1,000-meter freestyle (10:39.41) while Bryant won both 1-meter and 3-meter diving events.

The Hurricane men were led by junior Wesley Stoddard and sophomore Kyle Prandi. Stoddard took first in the 500-yard freestyle (4:42.30) and 1,000-yard freestyle (9:50.98) with Prandi winning the 1-meter and 3-meter diving competitions.

Miami returns to action on Saturday, October 14 against Florida Atlantic in a dual meet starting at 1 p.m. at the Norman Whitten Student Union Pool. Admission is free.
