Keim Qualifies For United States Olympic Team

Federal Way, WA – University of Miami senior Jenny Keim (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) qualified for the 2000 United States Olympic Team with a first-place finish in the 3-meter springboard at the United States Olympic Trials in Federal Way, WA.
Keim (22), the 2000 BIG EAST Diver of the Year, won the event with 860.31 points, 15 points ahead of Michelle Davison (Columbia, SC) who earned 844.59 points.
Keim will be making her second trip to the Olympic Games, which will take place September 22-30 in Sydney, Australia. Keim, the 2000 NCAA National Champion in the 10-meter platform, competed at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta finishing ninth in the 3-meter springboard.
Other current or former Hurricanes who have qualified for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney include junior Imre Lengyel who will represent Hungary in the men’s 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform competitions, junior Stefan Ahrens who will represent Germany in the men’s 3-meter springboard, and 1999 graduate Rhiannon Leier who will represent Canada in the women’s 100-meter breaststroke.
