Men's Track Opens Indoor Season

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s track and field team openedthe indoor season Sunday with the Florida Intercollegiates at the Stephen C.O’Connell Center on the campus of the University of Florida. No team scoreswere kept. Shane Brown led the Hurricanes with two top ten finishes.Brown took fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.02. He finishedeighth in the 400-meters, running 49.82. Gus Martin ran 7.47 in the55-meter high hurdles for fourth place while Kenny Frank was ninth with7.73. Nick Gransky (8:43.57) finished sixth in the 3,000 meter run. GregBott (8:57.75) followed in ninth. The ‘Canes finished in sixth-place in the4x 400-meter relay with a time of 3:27.45.

Delvin Brown (6.72 m, 22-0.75) and Jermaine Ponder (6.12 m, 20-01) earnedeighth and 12th place in the long jump for the Hurricanes.
