Barrett-Hamilton Leads Hurricanes At Lady Paladin

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Junior Ashleigh Barrett-Hamilton fired athree-round score of 236 to lead the University of Miami women’s golf teamto a 13th place finish at this weekend’s Lady Paladin Invitational at theFurman University Golf Course in Greenville, SC. The Hurricanes posted athree-day total of 951 (318-323-310) to secure the finish at the 24-schooltournament which concluded Sunday.
Individually, Barrett-Hamilton finished in a tie for 39th placeafter shooting a four-over-par 76 on Sunday. She netted scores of 78 onFriday and a 82 on Saturday
Senior Lorna Nelson (81-81-75-237) finished in a tie for 42nd place.Sophomore Kristin Tavcar (82-81-78-241) tied eight other golfers for 55thplace. Freshman Dominique Brooks Gagnon shot a three-day score of 243(83-79-81) to finish in a tie for 67th place, while sophomore Lavana Davis(77-89-82–248) finished in a tie for 80th place.
Wake Forest (295-305-292-892), led by tournament runner-up MariaBeautell (74-73-69-216), won the team competition. Angela Stanford of TexasChristian defeated Beautell in a playoff to win the individual championship.
