Women's Swimming And Diving Downs Florida Atlantic, Falls To Tennessee

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Junior Jennifer Weir paced the University of Miamiwomen’s swimming and diving team (1-2) to a 132-128 victory, SaturdayOctober 23, over interstate rival FAU (0-2). Weir recorded first-placefinishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.73) and 100-yard butterfly(:59.06), as well as a second place finish in the 100-yard freestyle(:53.95).

Miami also received strong performances from freshman Elaine Schwartz andsenior All-American Amy Lindblom. Schwartz won both the 200-yardfreestyle (1:57.01) and the 200-yard butterfly (2:04.37), while Lindblom,won the 500-yard freestyle (5:02.50) and finished second in the 1000-yardfreestyle (10:26.05).

University of Miami freshman Katie Beth Bryant won both the 1- and 3-meterevents, with scores of 298.70and 310.30.

In the second portion of the meet, the University of Tennessee (1-0)defeated the University of Miami (1-3) 166.5 to 74.5 at Florida Atlantic.The University of Miami women’s swimming and diving team next springs intoaction Saturday, November 13 against the University of Tampa at theWhitten Student Pool on the University of Miami campus.
