Miami's McCray Moves on at USA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Six-time Universityof Miami All-America Yolanda McCray(Miami Southridge) won her preliminary heat with time of 12.87 to advancetothe semifinals of the 100-hurdles at the USA Track and Field Championshipsin Eugene, OR.

McCray, the 1999 NCAA NationalChampionship in the 100-hurdles,moved onto the semifinals with the second fastest time in the preliminaries.Two-time Olympic gold medallist Gail Devers recorded the best timeof thepreliminaries (12.75).

The women’s 100-hurdle semifinalswill begin Sunday at 2:15 p.m.with the top four finishers in both heats advancing to the final at3:21p.m. The top three finishers in Sunday’s final qualify for the 1999WorldTrack and Field Championships, August 21-29, in Sevilla, Spain.
