Courtney Brooks enters his first season as the program’s Director of Player Personnel.

A Jackson, Mississippi, native, Brooks attended Grambling State University where he earned bachelor’s in health education before earning a master’s degree from Texas Southern University in sports administration. Brooks worked as a Texas educator for 15 years within Crosby ISD, Houston ISD and Alief ISD.

Brooks became a well-respected name in the Grassroots basketball realm. He spent the previous five years as the General Manager and Head of Recruiting and Scouting for the JL3 EYBL organization. During that tenure, he identified and recruited over 60 Division I players.

Prior to Grassroots Brooks, Brooks coached at both Forest Brook Middle and High school, as well Alief Hastings High School.

Brooks was the founder of CourtsideViews national scouting service that had over 70 Division I schools prior to Grassroots stint.

Brooks was also a member of the NBPA Top100 camp recruiting committee.

Brooks is a proud husband his wife, Mariana, and father to a beautiful daughter, Nuri.
