Men's Hoops To Face Northwestern in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The match-ups for the eighth annual ACC/Big Ten Challenge have been set. The University of Miami will travel to Northwestern to face the Wildcat on Tuesday, November 28th.

The game will be televised live on ESPN2 at 9:30 p.m.

This marks the second consecutive season in which the Hurricanes will be on the road for the ACC-Big Ten Challenge. Miami traveled to Michigan last season falling, 74-53, to the Wolverines in Ann Arbor.

The ACC has won all seven Challenges including a 6-5 victory last season.

In head coach Frank Haith’s second season, Miami finished 18-16 and reach the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament, its second consecutive post-season appearance.

The Hurricanes recorded two wins over ranked teams last season which included the school’s first victory over North Carolina in the Dean Smith Center. UM won its first ACC tournament game, hosted its first post-season game, and recorded its first post-season road win.

The Hurricanes return nine lettermen from last season’s squad including five players that started at least two games in 2005-06.
