UM Volleyball Continues Two-A-Days

Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) — The University of Miamivolleyball team began its eighth day of two-a-days with a three-hour practiceon Friday morning at the Knight Sports Complex on the UM campus.

“Our practices are definitely getting better one-by-one,” said headvolleyball coach Nicole Lantagne. “I think our ball control has really improvedfrom the start. We do a lot of ball control for the first hour of practice. We’restarting to work more as a team in our team drills and each day we see improvementsindividually and as a whole.”

Two-a-days continue through Tuesday, August 21. The team will practice once aday beginning Wednesday, August 22, when classes start for the fall semester atUM.

“Once school starts we’ll go down to one a day in the mornings. They’ll havepractice, get their treatments and then they’ll have the rest of the day for classes,”said Lantagne.

The Hurricanes open the 2001 season away from home on Friday, August 31, at 7p.m. against Davidson College at the Davidson Tournament in Davidson, NC. Miami’sfirst home match is on Friday, September 7, at 2 p.m. against Long Island at theKnights Sports Complex on the UM campus. The match coincides with the inauguralHurricane Invitational.
