Hite Named UM/ACC Men's Student-Athlete of the Year

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Senior guard Robert Hite (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been named the UM/ACC Men’s Student-Athlete of the Year.

Hite earned third-team All-ACC honors and was a first-team All-District 6 selection by the NABC this season after averaging 16.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game. He started all 34 games and ranked second on the team in both scoring and rebounding, and led the team in steals.

Hite, who was named the team’s MVP at Monday’s Awards Banquet, connected on 85 three-point field goals this season setting a UM single-season record. He ends his career ranked fifth on UM’s career scoring list with 1,717 points, fourth on its career steals list with 187 and third in career three-point field goals with 228.

His 84.9 career free throw percentage ranks second all-time at UM and his career 38.4 percent three-point field goal percentage ranks third all-time at Miami. He started 109 career games ranking second on UM’s all-time list.
