BIG EAST Newcomers To Clash

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – The University of Miami volleyball team may be venturing through the looking glass Saturday when they travel to Blacksburg, Va., to take on fellow BIG EAST Conference volleyball newcomer Virginia Tech.

Both the Hokies and the Hurricanes are among the newest volleyball teams to have joined the BIG EAST Conference and both have 5-1 records in conference play.

The Hurricanes enter the match coming off a 3-1 win over a strong South Florida team last Monday.

UM is the top team in the BIG EAST in three statistical categories including hitting percentage (.298 in conference matches, .279 overall), assists per game (15.71, 15.27), and kills (17.29, 17.10).

The Hokies are among the top four in hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage, kills per game, service aces, and digs.
