“Our team has been working incredibly hard in practice this week to get ready for Saturday,” head coach Robbie Tenenbaum said. “It’s been fun to watch our boats fight it out in practice over the last couple of days.”

The Varsity Eight race is slated for an 8 a.m. start with the Novice Eight and Varsity Four races to follow at 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. respectively.

“I’m excited to see how well we are going to perform against Jacksonville on race day,” Tenenbaum added.

At last weekend’s ACC Rowing Championship, Miami placed fourth in three of four races for a fifth-place overall team finish on LakeHartwell in Clemson, S.C.

Also in Clemson, juniors Laura Cordner and Kelly Amsler – both members of UM’s 1st Varsity Eight team — were named to the 2008 All-ACC Rowing Team.

In its last time out, Jacksonville’s placed third on the women’s side of the Southeast Intercollegiate Rowing Association Regatta last weekend in Oak Ridge, Tenn.

The Dolphins will also have three Varsity Four crews competing in the 9 a.m. race.

After Saturday’s races, Miami will begin preparation for the Aramark South/Central Championships, May 17-18 in Oak Ridge.
