Ray Lopez serves in a dual leadership capacity at the University of Miami, holding the campus title of Director alongside his athletics title of Assistant Athletic Director for Information Technology. In these roles, Ray provides strategic and operational oversight for all technology initiatives within University of Miami Athletics, ensuring the department remains at the forefront of innovation in collegiate sports technology.
Ray’s connection to the University of Miami runs deep. He spent nearly a decade as IT Manager for the Department of Athletics beginning in 2013, building and refining the technology infrastructure that supports one of the nation’s most storied athletic programs. Prior to that, he served as a key member of the university’s Medical IT Department, where he helped implement and manage technology solutions critical to medical and healthcare operations — a testament to the breadth and versatility of his expertise.
With over 30 years of experience in information technology, Ray brings a wealth of institutional knowledge, technical depth, and leadership perspective to his role. His promotion to Assistant Athletic Director and now Director reflects the University’s recognition of his sustained contributions and his unwavering commitment to advancing technology, efficiency, and excellence across the athletics enterprise.
