Luis A. Feigenbaum serves as an adjunct professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Sports Sciences, teaching in both the Doctorate of Sports Science and Data Analytics and Master of Athletic Training programs. Concurrently, he serves as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Performance, Health, and Wellness and Athletics Healthcare Administrator at the University of Miami, where he oversees the comprehensive care, physical preparation, and holistic well-being of Hurricane student-athletes.
In addition to his teaching in Sports Science, Dr. Feigenbaum holds a primary academic appointment as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the Miller School of Medicine and secondary appointment as an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics and Health Data Science. He is also the founder and Program Director of the University of Miami Sports Physical Therapy Residency program, and previously served as the first UHealth Chief of Physical Therapy starting in 2008.
Dr. Feigenbaum’s extensive history with Miami Athletics includes serving on the football sports medicine team during the program’s championship era, including the 2001 Sugar Bowl, 2001 National Championship (2002 Rose Bowl), and 2002 National Championship Game (2003 Fiesta Bowl) teams. Nationally, he completed a four-year term as the Strength & Conditioning representative on the NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports, with subcommittee appointments in Drug Appeals, Prevention & Performance, and Research.
