Chrissy Steffen -  - University of Miami Athletics
Chrissy Steffen currently serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services / Director of Olympic Sport Academics at the University of Miami.
Prior to her arrival in Coral Gables, Steffen was the Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Services at her alma mater, Bowling Green State University (BGSU). While at BGSU, she oversaw the day-to-day operations in Student-Athlete Services and served as the lead academic advisor for Football and men’s basketball.

Prior to BGSU, Steffen spent 3 years as an Academic Counselor for football and women’s basketball as well as the coordinator for the young professional program at the University of Illinois. While at Illinois, she earned the N4A Kenneth Miles Professional Promise Award.

Steffen also previously served as an Academic Advisor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, working with women’s basketball, women’s ice hockey and men’s and women’s swimming and diving for 2.5 years.

Steffen earned her Master of Science degree in Recreation and Sport Management with a concentration in Sport Management at the University of Tennessee where she was an Assistant Academic Counselor for football and other sports. She was also a participant in the NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar and winner of the Dr. Joy T. DeSensi Professionalism Award during her time in Knoxville.

Originally from Carmel, Indiana, Steffen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Mathematics Education with a minor as an Intervention Specialist from BGSU in December 2013. During her time at BGSU, she was a student-athlete and two-time team captain on the women’s basketball team that won three Mid-American Conference Championships along with two NCAA and two WNIT appearances.

Steffen is currently pursuing her PhD in Education Policy, Organization & Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education from the University of Illinois.
