Assistant Coach Eric Johnson joined the Miami Hurricanes Volleyball staff in July of 2023.
Johnson comes from previous assistant coaching positions at American University, a position he held since August of 2021, and a four-year tenure at George Mason University. In addition to his time at George Mason, Johnson coached junior club teams in the greater Washington D.C. area.
A native of Tustin, California, Johnson spent a decade as a player and coach with the Balboa Bay Volleyball Club, winning the 15 Open USAV National Championship in 2009.
Johnson’s playing career stems from Division III’s Springfield College, where he won NCAA National Championships in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Johnson graduated from Springfield in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management while representing Team USA at the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia.
